Restaurant description

With an award-winning menu, Positano Restaurant specialises in southern Italian cuisine, serving dishes from risotto to creative fish recipes. The Elizabethan building boasts a fantastic history, authentic original décor, and a well-stocked bar.

Offering healthy recipes using fresh and natural ingredients, the Positano menu is vast. The tasty dishes include spaghetti con cozze, with succulent mussels submerged in white wine, chilli, garlic and parsley. Another favourite fish dish is the caciucco di pesce, a traditional Italian dish with an array of mussels, calamari, sword fish, tiger prawns and langoustine, muddled in a cherry tomato and white wine sauce. For non-fish eaters, a selection of veal, beef, risotto and pizzas is also available and Positano restaurant prepares all dishes fresh to order.

The simple décor, with wood panelled walls and exposed beams, makes a great backdrop for relaxing with a cocktail or glass of wine from the bar.

A 4-minute drive from Guildford Rail Station, Positano Restaurant in Guildford offers authentic Italian dining.

A quirky restaurant with passageways and rustic features. Food arrived quickly and was of a high standard. Prices slightly higher than average, but worth it.

Love this place! The food is gorgeous, from the fresh fish to pizza perfection. The service is always impeccable and priced reasonably. Lunch or dinner, we eat here at least twice a week!

a recent visit to guildford tk visit my daughter who lives there, she recommended eating at positano as we love Italian food, and ive got to say we were not disappointed, my hubby had the chef special of day a slow cooked beef tagliatelle, i had monkfish and our daughter had chicken pesto pasta, it was all delicious, to top that the staff where so nice, will definitely be visiting there again.

Saturday lunch. Difficult for the restaurant in these strange times with many restrictions but the staff remain very welcoming and overall a pleasant lunch. The Asparagus special starter however was disappointing being quite overcooked and also overwhelmed by the enormous salad that came on the plate with it. My Spaghetti Vongole on the other hand was a delight. My wife very much enjoyed a tasty Risotto Verde although the Mascarpone that accompanied it was a little superfluous.

Availability limited so had to go earlier than planned. Outside seating area pleasant in the sunshine although air con fan In building opposite was noisy but less noticeable when other people arrived. Food was very tasty and good sized portions and the Prosecco passed the ‘cold and fizzy’ test ( just). Will return

A charming restaurant with Italian charming knowledgeable attentive staff - our first visit- we had a meal at 6pm prior to an event at G Live- a 15 minute walk- sharing platters were wonderful- we had specials and they were special. We will return. There are narrow steps up to restaurant and the fact it is on different levels with low ceilings adds to the ambience but not suitable for prams, wheelchairs . I wouldn’t take young children here.
