Restaurant description

With an award-winning menu, Positano Restaurant specialises in southern Italian cuisine, serving dishes from risotto to creative fish recipes. The Elizabethan building boasts a fantastic history, authentic original décor, and a well-stocked bar.

Offering healthy recipes using fresh and natural ingredients, the Positano menu is vast. The tasty dishes include spaghetti con cozze, with succulent mussels submerged in white wine, chilli, garlic and parsley. Another favourite fish dish is the caciucco di pesce, a traditional Italian dish with an array of mussels, calamari, sword fish, tiger prawns and langoustine, muddled in a cherry tomato and white wine sauce. For non-fish eaters, a selection of veal, beef, risotto and pizzas is also available and Positano restaurant prepares all dishes fresh to order.

The simple décor, with wood panelled walls and exposed beams, makes a great backdrop for relaxing with a cocktail or glass of wine from the bar.

A 4-minute drive from Guildford Rail Station, Positano Restaurant in Guildford offers authentic Italian dining.

This was far from my first visit and the friendly welcome and positive staff made for a great start. We kept it simple with lunch this time. The food was tasty and well prepared and service was prompt and cheerful. I would have preferred not to be the only people sat in the same room as a large birthday party, but at least we had privacy. I rate it on my whole experience, rather than this brief visit alone, which is overwhelmingly positive.

Friendly attentive service, though we weren't told about the specials. Excellent carbonara, pizza and seafood pasta. Veal marsala was light on seasoning and marsala. Delicious puds and proper coffee. Overall 8/10 and could easily be better We are definitely coming back.

Great Italian restaurant, good menu and very cosy. Really enjoyed our food, especially the Tuna steak. The only down side was that it was too warm for us, but we will be going back in the summer!

Loved the ambience and overall feeling of the restaurant. Good music, not too loud but loud enough to create a good atmosphere. Excellent staff and service. Food absolutely wonderful. Have already recommended to friends and will definitely visit again.
