Within easy walking reach of London world-famous Theatreland, the Porcupine dates back to 1725. With a covered outdoor seating area for sipping ice-cold beers and watching the world go by on sunny days, the traditional pub serves hearty British food in a welcoming environment.
Since Nicholson’s pubs were first established in 1873, these traditional British inns have become synonymous with warm hospitality, hearty pub food and a speciality range of ales. As well as always featuring British pub classics like beer-battered fish & chips and gammon & eggs, the Porcupine menu is complemented by a rotating selection of pie, sausage & chop and fish specials for each season.
The Porcupine bar is always stocked with exquisite gins, warming whiskies and fine wines to pair with favourite meals, and there’s always a superb range of seasonal and regional real ales on offer. A constant at the bar is the St Austell-brewed Nicholson’s Pale Ale, made with Cornish Maris Otter malts, and a hand-picked blend of English hops.
Porcupine in Leicester Square is under a minute’s walk from Leicester Square Tube Station. Covent Garden is just a 4-minute walk away.

Despite being in a central area of ??London, the tourist is welcomed with care and kindness. Excellent and abundant fish and chips. Pleasant and relaxing environment.

It wasn't very good

Food was lovely however I was travelling with a 7 year old and wasn’t offered a child’s menu, when I asked did they do children’s portions I was told no and still not offered a child’s menu. Only when I was leaving after having our meal did I notice other children with children’s meal. The guy serving us seems although his head was elsewhere and clearly his attention wasn’t on his customers.

The Christmas lunch was very good both in content and value. I shall place a more detailed appraisal on Trip Advisor of which I have had over 20,000 views.

Very good service, very attentive, we complained about the chips being cold and the waitress was very helpful and brought seem fresh cooked chips and keep coming back to apologise, when we asked for the bill she mentioned that they would be a discount and they took 20% off the food bill.
