International recipes come together on the Poopdeck menu, with Brixham seafood curry starring alongside moules marinière and gently grilled rock salmon with toasted fennel seeds, roasted artichoke and pesto drizzle. The famous ‘Neptune’s feast’ is a hot shellfish platter of half lobster, crevettes, crab, scallops, king prawns, mussels and oyster, while meatier options include prime local steaks, braised shoulder of lamb and chicken with creamed leeks.

A selection of fine international wines accompanies the menu at the Poopdeck Restaurant in Brixham, which also boasts a comprehensive range of cognacs, malt whiskies, ports, and liqueurs. There’s a special 6-course tasting menu and a wide range of daily-changing specials.

The poopdeck was just that, poop! Well, the food at least. We had the neptune's feast and it was just terrible, not fresh. Wine and side salad were the only thing I can say we enjoyed. The crème brûlée dessert was also not good, tasteless custard lacking vanilla and caramel. Shame.

We have eaten here very many times before and it has been excellent. I would always recommend the fish, it is amazingly fresh and was on this occasion. However, the vegetables were very poor and not very fresh and despite telling them many times of my dairy allergy, me potatoes were served to me with butter on! Also my daughter's steak was seriously over cooked.

On arrival the waitress had difficulty finding our booking on their system, we were then told we would be seated upstairs in the overflow, despite the main restaurant being half empty. The room we were taken to had the contents of the store cupboard on display, which the waiter managed to rectify. We were told we could not have a window seat & instead were seated next to a wall that appeared to have food splashes over it. The overall look of the place was both tatty and grubby. Food wise my husband said the mussels were excellent, but unfortunately the other starter and both mains were very dissapointing, both in appearance and taste. The waiter seemed to have very little knowledge of the fish on the menu.
