I have come to polpo before and loved it, yesterday a friend and I booked for lunch. We were sat down but weren't served a drink until about 15 minutes later, the restaurant was busy but not packed. We got our drinks then ordered our food, the first three dishes came quickly, the meatballs were a little cold on arrival. We then waited 30 minutes for the next course (a tomoato salad) and the prawns came out about 10 minutes later, by which stage we weren't massively up for eating them. Overall we were slightly disappointed and it wasn't as good as previous visits. For the money we paid we don't feel it was the best value due to the slow service and some dishes arriving cold.

A lovely restaurant with a food selection of Italian tapas dishes. The octopus carpaccio was so fresh and tasty and the meatballs were amazing.

I thought the restaurant looked tired and grubby maybe this is the style but for me it didn't work if it was supposed to be rustic that's fair enough but it felt dirty and the leather seats didn't help. The food was nice overall I think it would be better if there were 4 bits on the chichetti plates to share 3 is a difficult number.

Absolutely awful. No dish was hot, just about warm. The worst of all was the vegetable frito misto. The vegetables were soggy rather than crisp and the batter was just sticky. If they cannot make such a basic dish they should pack up and go. Also the toilets are quite awful.
