Excellent menu & good value for money. Only negative it was difficult to make arrangements to pay once we had finished.

A vibrant, colourful dining space that is ideal for pre or post-theatre meals, Playhouse Bar and Kitchen proudly serves up seasonal dishes at Nottingham Playhouse. The al fresco seating area is the perfect spot for casual nibbles and drinks, with locally-brewed ales served up at the bar.

Honest British recipes are served on the Playhouse Bar and Kitchen menu, along with a few international influences. Brunch options include classic favourites like eggs Benedict, as well as the signature Playhouse hash with chorizo and local sausage. There are small plate dishes of salt and pepper squid with aioli, and chicken liver parfait, while larger mains include hearty favourites like steak and ale pie, and more exotic options such as vegetarian chickpea fajitas.

A concise wine list at Playhouse Bar and Kitchen in Nottingham includes bottles of prosecco, with a selection of international beers, ciders, and refreshing fruit juices also available. For pudding, tuck into apple crumble, or chocolate tart with ice cream.

A bright, modern venue with a wonderfully laid-back vibe, Playhouse Bar and Kitchen is right beside Nottingham Cathedral, and a stone's throw from the city centre.

Service lacked coordination. Dishes were removed without reference to us. Coffee was served before the dessert. It was a different experience and quite laughable because it was so bad.

Previously have enjoyed the small choice menu and quality of the food but very disappointed this time.
Watery soup, sauce for meatballs thin , not tomatoe-y and mainly just much too-hot chili. ( and contained coriander, which I hate, and was not mentioned on the menu.)

Sea bass was ok but very small , one filet only
The lemon and Strawberry sorbets (chosen to cool the chili down) were just two spoonsful in a glass, very cost effective for the restaurant but no finesse for the price.
Staff appeared rushed and were not well organised.
Will not be going again unfortunately, as there are others near the theatre, unless I hear better reports from friends..

Very disappointed - very slow service which prevented us completing meal. Food lukewarm and insufficient in quantity. It was full and we were far from the only ones to be complaining and receiving a discount from the manager. She apologised and, although explaining about staffing difficulties, agreed it was not good enough. The bar service in the interval was also very slow and inefficient. Shooting yourselves in the foot like this was all the more damaging as the show was a sell-out.

Overall the food was good, spicy food had a little too much hot spice and the chicken on the ceasar salad was too chargrille, but the overall experience was good

Unfortunately after a reasonably good start it turned into a disaster . New chef on the night could not cope too many diners need serving in little time . Starters very good ,received mains 10minutes before start of performance , food seemed to have been thrown on to plate refused the meals and did not pay . Manager very sorry ,just a bad night . Will try again though.
