A London pub with a difference, Plaquemine Lock boasts a Michelin Bib Gourmand, and offers a true taste of the American South. Cajun and creole-style dishes from Louisiana are served in a colourful setting, with hand-drawn murals over the bar that celebrate bayou life.
Authentic Cajun flavours on the Plaquemine Lock feature house specialities like oysters and boiled crayfish, served with traditional sides like grits and tomato gravy. There are aromatic gumbos, buckets of fried chicken with American biscuits, and the crowd-pleasing po'boy sandwiches filled with blackened chicken, slow-roast beef, and soft shell crab.
Pecan pie with cane sugar ice cream is a great way to end a meal at Plaquemine Lock in North London, while the bar serves up British and American beers, as well as Louisiana-themed cocktails made with imported bourbons and rums.
A unique London restaurant that treats diners to a true taste of Louisiana, Plaquemine Lock is a 7-minute walk from Angel Tube Station.

Overall, I think it is a great place for younger people. The style is informal, attentative and noisy. I've never eaten Creole cooking before and enjoyed it a lot but it is a bit samey. The ice-cream is superb and I love your sister restaurant Lupo de Bocca which is probably more our style.

Sunday Jazz was wonderful, if not a bit loud at times, so we sat outside. Blackened Cajun chicken was moist and beyond delicious. Crawfish was excellent, as was the slaw and everything we ordered. Beautiful decor and tasteful details. Friendly and efficient staff. Large selection of beer and good wines (didn't like the rosé). The only issue we felt was that because it is a pub, one must go up to the bar to order everything. Table service would have been preferred, but otherwise this place rocks!!

Fantastic, delicious, unique (for London) food. The gumbo, blackened shrimp salad, coleslaw were spectacular. Noisy acoustics but was Friday evening. However we were given (without fuss) a table outside which was much appreciated. The service was outstanding.

Brightest smiles from the team and so much energy in the room, from music to the gaily painted walls.
