Restaurant description

From the founders of popular Viet Eat in Holborn, Pho & Bun Soho serves up authentic Vietnamese street food in the heart of the theatre district.

Unsurprisingly, the Pho & Bun menu is led by traditional pho noodle soup and steamed burger buns. The pho is simmered overnight to create a healthy and flavoursome broth that is packed with herbs and spices. Freshly made in house, the steamed buns are filled with 28-day-aged beef patties and a signature smoky mayonnaise. Elsewhere on the menu find dishes like barbecue honey pork with vermicelli or crispy crab spring rolls.

Finish with the likes of caramel flan with Vietnamese iced coffee, or pandan and coconut panna cotta. Pho & Bun on Shaftesbury Avenue is also home to a selection of wines, Vietnamese beer and fresh juice.

A relaxed, contemporary restaurant dotted with Vietnamese features, find Pho & Bun London a short walk from both Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus Tube stations.

The restaurant food was great both for its taste and value. Service was good but the servers were very busy.

Excellent food, service was good. My friend and I had the set menu. We had two starters each. We tried the tiger prawn wraps, pork and crab spring rolls and squid, all served with tasty salad, was very good. Our beef pho was very nice, hot and flavoursome. We had the caramel flan to finish, a bit small but we were already really full up by then so that was sufficient.

Food was tasty although the dessert was very average and could have been eaten in any other restaurant - not very authentic. Restaurant far too small with the amount of tables. Very claustopobic. We had two large and very loud German ladies almost sat on top of us - ruined our experience! Before, they arrived, experience was good. Service was average although had to wait for plates to be cleared away as staff were more interested in seating new customers and not looking after the current customers.

Really great service, very quick and the food was excellent! Great value for what you get and tastes amazing. Did the 4 course for £24 and it was so worth it, there was a wide range of options for us!

I've been to Pho & Bun before (but the first time was well over a year ago). It's very busy but on this occasion I think my friend and I made bad choices - she had the tofu Bao bun, which was literally just a (large) slab of tofu in a bun (she thought it might have been cooked more crisply or marinated in some way to make it more tasty, but it wasn't) and I had the beef Bao bun which was nice but I should have had Pho or something else. I had a Vietnamese Espresso Martini which was delicious and I'd visit again just for one of those - but based on the food we had this evening, it was rather underwhelming.

Excellent food. Good acknowledgement of my friend’s fish allergy. Tasty cocktails
