Restaurant description
The Philharmonic Dining Rooms Liverpool is a simply stunning watering hole. Filled with intricate detail and plush furnishings, it is a popular spot for visitors to the famous Liverpool Philharmonic Hall opposite.
Since Nicholson’s pubs were first established in 1873, these traditional British inns have become synonymous with warm hospitality, hearty pub food and a speciality range of ales. As well as always featuring British pub classics like beer-battered fish & chips and gammon & eggs, the Philharmonic Dining Rooms menu is complemented by a rotating selection of pie, sausage & chop and fish specials for each season.
The Philharmonic Dining Rooms bar is always stocked with exquisite gins, warming whiskies and fine wines to pair with favourite meals, and there’s always a superb range of seasonal and regional real ales on offer. A constant at the bar is the St Austell-brewed Nicholson’s Pale Ale, made with Cornish Maris Otter malts, and a hand-picked blend of English hops.
A beautifully decorated pub filled with history, the Philharmonic Dining Rooms is a 12-minute walk from Liverpool Central Rail Station.

Absolutely awful! Arranged meal pre-gig as venue ideal. 1 poor waitress serving on her own couldn’t keep up with demand, wasn’t her fault we actually felt sorry for her! Now Nicholson’s is a pie house so my husband ordered game pie, when he cut into it it was cold! So it was sent back. After long wait another pie was brought (by which time I’d eaten my meal). This pie was burnt, hard to cut into albeit it was hot. It also wasn’t game pie but steak and kidney. Naturally we didn’t pay for my husbands meal. Manager wasn’t there even so they should’ve had someone with managerial experience to ensure staffing levels are sufficient. Needless to say we won’t be returning, shame as the dining room was pleasant to sit in.

We liked the food and the sfeer around. It was a pitte that the dining rooms were reserved for a private party. So we had to eat in the lower room. But is was oké overall. Excuses for my english. My birth language is Grts.

We really enjoyed our visit here. The staff were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was lovely and the pub itself full of character. I will come here again and highly recommend it.

Great quirky pub, lived up to expectations. Food was good enough but thats not the reason for the vosit. Go see the tiling, its bonkers! We both had pies which were good but the veg was a bit dull.

Anywhere that has a good selection of pies is a winner in my book, but one that offers coronation chicken is a must! 1st time i've been to the Philharmonic pub for food, and it won't be the last. It's one of the most amazing buildings that has fantastic architecture within it. Our waitress whilst we were dining was helpful, friendly and attentive .
