Restaurant description

Found within a London hotel that dates back as far as 1836, Petrichor at The Cavendish London serves contemporary British cuisine and a great value pre-theatre menu. Overlooking the exclusive boutiques and galleries of Jermyn Street, St. James's and Piccadilly, Petrichor is found on the 1st floor of the Cavendish London hotel.

Championing a commitment to serving premium ingredients, Petrichor London sources from local farmers and producers to create monthly-changing menus of delicious modern British cuisine. Head Chef Nitin Pawar blends hearty, home-cooked flavours and unique culinary flair, with Petrichor menu favourites including rich pigeon and venison terrine with elderflower jelly, or sustainable fish pie with smoked cod loin, shrimps and boiled quail eggs.

Rich, autumnal flavours for dessert include panettone bread & butter pudding with drambuie custard, or mulled wine-poached pear with cinnamon mascarpone. An accomplished wine list at Petrichor Green Park showcases fine vintages, alongside an exclusive selection from the Chapel Down winery in Kent.

Capturing the essence of nature through the setting and cuisine, Petrichor restaurant is set in the deluxe surroundings of The Cavendish Hotel. Green Park Tube Station is a 5-minute walk away.

Warm welcome and felt cared for ... without being intrusive. Thank you to the staff. We pitched for the free-flowing prosecco deal ... menu and drink good value and quality... and with c 4 items for course to cater to different tastes. Nicely presented. Olive bread a winner. Quiet atmosphere so felt secluded (in a good way).

We enjoyed the pre-theatre menu which was very tasty. The service was wonderful. The dining room was set up nicely - lots of room between tables.

We were cordially met and got a nice table. The food was good, especially the cured trout we had as a starter. The prosecco was served as son as we arrived, but my glass was empty quite a while and I had to ask to get more... but after that the waitress was very attentive keeping it flowing (as she should when this was a «free flowing deal». My only complaint is that the staff began preparing the room for next days breakfast just after nine and while we were on the main course. A bit early.

Ok so location is good. The decor is so bad though really takes away from the experience!!! Food was quite good And worth the price. Staff were also attentive (only one ran after us asking if we’d paid when we already had). Really major thing to do is the decor. It’s a Mayfair hotel next to Fortnums and the dining room is like a cheap/midrange corporate American hotel

Really wonderful friendly and attentive service - very high standard. You don’t find that everywhere so it was great to see.

Took friends here for afternoon tea with bubbles. It was excellent! Service with a smile, great food and the bubbles flowed freely! Never had an empty glass. Will be going back again soon I hope!
