Found within a London hotel that dates back as far as 1836, Petrichor at The Cavendish London serves contemporary British cuisine and a great value pre-theatre menu. Overlooking the exclusive boutiques and galleries of Jermyn Street, St. James's and Piccadilly, Petrichor is found on the 1st floor of the Cavendish London hotel.

Championing a commitment to serving premium ingredients, Petrichor London sources from local farmers and producers to create monthly-changing menus of delicious modern British cuisine. Head Chef Nitin Pawar blends hearty, home-cooked flavours and unique culinary flair, with Petrichor menu favourites including rich pigeon and venison terrine with elderflower jelly, or sustainable fish pie with smoked cod loin, shrimps and boiled quail eggs.

Rich, autumnal flavours for dessert include panettone bread & butter pudding with drambuie custard, or mulled wine-poached pear with cinnamon mascarpone. An accomplished wine list at Petrichor Green Park showcases fine vintages, alongside an exclusive selection from the Chapel Down winery in Kent.

Capturing the essence of nature through the setting and cuisine, Petrichor restaurant is set in the deluxe surroundings of The Cavenish Hotel. Green Park Tube Station is a 5-minute walk away.

Average meal. Creme brulee dessert really wasn’t a creme brulee although it was pleasant enough. Helpful waitress although the Bookatable free glass of champagne offer seemed to confuse everyone. Spacious restaurant and fairly quiet.

My wife & I had both lunch & dinner on Friday 23 November. Both meals were excellent, served by a professional, friendly team, and in a peaceful environment.

Six of us took afternoon tea on Sunday 18th November. Everyone enjoyed the mixture of sweet and savoury on offer. We are a group of friends who go for afternoon tea at a key hotel every month. Petrichor at The Cavendish was declared one of the best for food and service. It was our first visit for afternoon tea but with so many positive comments it will not be our last. I booked for 4 but 6 of us enjoyed the tea.

Very good value for money and kind and attentive staff. Such a shame there were not more people as the Cavendish served a lovely tea with free flowing prosecco, a good selection of savoury items and excellent sweet things. These included macaroons, panacotta which was very light, two scones and jam, a chocolate and orange sweet, banoffee and a range of teas. What more could one ask for £32.Well done to the Cavendish.

I have dined here on several occasions, so am obviously happy with the restaurant. This time it was on a Saturday evening so the restaurant was busier than usual.
Despite being 20 minutes early we were welcomed by the staff and went straight to our table. The waitresses were very helpful and attentive and we had a good meal at a very good price, including "bottomless Prosecco". The only draw back was a very noisy table next to us.

Loved the restaurant , the food and the service. It was a lovely experience and my only BUT is we all had to eat again that evening, portions were quite small.

the food for the afternoon tea was faultless, a little bit different to most, ie the savoury options and the free flowing bubbles was very attentive. however the atmosphere in the lounge was soul less so I doubt I would return.

The service was excellent and the food was exceptionally good! My partner and I regularly go for afternoon teas around London and the food at Petrichor was by far the best we have experienced. We went for one duke and one duchess and the food was very fresh, with some nice original touches such as the cheese toasties, quiches and the hake. The scones were divine - crisp on the outside and light and soft on the inside, and we even enjoyed all of the cakes (we’re not usually so sweet toothed!). The brownies in particularly were to die for!
