Found within a London hotel that dates back as far as 1836, Petrichor at The Cavendish London serves contemporary British cuisine and a great value pre-theatre menu. Overlooking the exclusive boutiques and galleries of Jermyn Street, St. James's and Piccadilly, Petrichor is found on the 1st floor of the Cavendish London hotel.

Championing a commitment to serving premium ingredients, Petrichor London sources from local farmers and producers to create monthly-changing menus of delicious modern British cuisine. Head Chef Nitin Pawar blends hearty, home-cooked flavours and unique culinary flair, with Petrichor menu favourites including rich pigeon and venison terrine with elderflower jelly, or sustainable fish pie with smoked cod loin, shrimps and boiled quail eggs.

Rich, autumnal flavours for dessert include panettone bread & butter pudding with drambuie custard, or mulled wine-poached pear with cinnamon mascarpone. An accomplished wine list at Petrichor Green Park showcases fine vintages, alongside an exclusive selection from the Chapel Down winery in Kent.

Capturing the essence of nature through the setting and cuisine, Petrichor restaurant is set in the deluxe surroundings of The Cavendish Hotel. Green Park Tube Station is a 5-minute walk away.

I booked a free-flowing prosecco afternoon tea for myself and three friends. The décor and location were great and the tea was delicious. Lovely sandwiches and cakes, very good scones, with plenty of cream and jam. But the service was fabulous - very attentive but knew when to leave us alone. I would thoroughly recommend this place.

The food was really lovely and the bubbles were very free flowing. Was a little disappointed that we had to pay for extra sandwiches though as many places offer them for free now.

Lovely food, excellent service provided for our late lunch. Reliable as ever. Only reason it’s not a 5 star review is that we were the only people in the restaurant throughout which lacked atmosphere, but that is of course a very harsh criticism.

A lovely afternoon tea. The sandwiches were lovely and fresh and had nice fillings. The mini quiche was the nicest I’ve ever had. A good selection of cakes and 2 scones per person. The free flowing Prosecco was plentiful. A very nice experience.

Delicious food and took advantage of a glass of free champagne offer.

I had the bottomless prosecco afternoon tea. Food was good and staff were professional, helpful and very friendly. Only concern was that I was not told that my time for the prosecco was started when I arrived, even though we didn't actually start dining until 15-20 mins later. My friend was a bit late so I understand this can happen but was told the time was started later, when we were both seated. Therefore I did not get the full 90 minutes. I think it would have been nice to be told at the start, this was my only criticism.

We arrived early as the weather was too awful for shopping. We didn't think the hotel was very Christmassy. The tables were too close together and we were seated next to a very loud group of four which spoiled our experience. The sandwich fingers were delicious as was the little warm savoury tartlet. However we were not offered more sandwiches as in other 5 star afternoon teas in London. The cakes were very nice too. We had the bottomless champagne offer but the refills were very slow and we needed to attract the waiters' attention. When we left no-one said goodbye or thanked us for our visit. This was an expensive treat and we did not feel we were valued guests.
