We had a "High Tea" with you and we enjoyed every bit of it: sandwiches, cakes and scones were delicious and the tea was just right. Excellent service from all of the staff.

Found within a London hotel that dates back as far as 1836, Petrichor at The Cavendish London serves contemporary British cuisine and a great value pre-theatre menu. Overlooking the exclusive boutiques and galleries of Jermyn Street, St. James's and Piccadilly, Petrichor is found on the 1st floor of the Cavendish London hotel.

Championing a commitment to serving premium ingredients, Petrichor London sources from local farmers and producers to create monthly-changing menus of delicious modern British cuisine. Head Chef Glen Padiyar blends hearty, home-cooked flavours and unique culinary flair, with Petrichor menu favourites including rich pigeon and venison terrine with elderflower jelly, or sustainable fish pie with smoked cod loin, shrimps and boiled quail eggs.

Rich, autumnal flavours for dessert include panettone bread & butter pudding with drambuie custard, or mulled wine-poached pear with cinnamon mascarpone. An accomplished wine list at Petrichor Green Park showcases fine vintages, alongside an exclusive selection from the Chapel Down winery in Kent.

Capturing the essence of nature through the setting and cuisine, Petrichor restaurant is set in the deluxe surroundings of The Cavenish Hotel. Green Park Tube Station is a 5-minute walk away.

Lunch for four, in most respects quite excellent. Two of us had salmon, two had lamb. Wines - Primitivo and New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, both much enjoyed. Service was fine. The only slight disappointment was the baked alaska, much softer - even soggier - than I remember from my previous visit about twelve months before. However, I really value this restaurant as a great place to have an unhurried, extended lunch with old friends - it must be one of the few places in the West End where you can hear yourself think! Splitting the bill with two credit cards was simple and straightforward.

Lovely food, wonderful service, terrific ambience. Petrichor at the Cavendish is a place we keep returning to.

Fig staters were sublime, fillet steaks (rare) we good but a little dry.
Wine order took a long time to arrive, after starters finished, not an issue as it was for the main, but when it came wine waiter opted to take a phone call rather than being the wine to the table and it was cooler than it should have been and barely had time to breath before the steak arrives. Pretty poor really.

The food was okay but not great. The service was poor, with it taking 2 1/2 hours to be served a 3 course meal plus tea/coffee. Apparently the restaurant had a staff shortage which meant that agency staff were being used, most of whom were unable to perform basic functions like taking orders or providing the correct menu. The permanent staff were very good if overrun. Given the significant delays, I presume the kitchens also had staffing issues.

Disappointing. The restaurant was almost empty but it took a long time to be served. They also don’t provide you with a list of tea

The lunch was perfect. Although we chose from the express menu we told our waitress we were not in a hurry so the service was relaxed and we really enjoyed it. Every dish was delicious. Gerda was an excellent waitress and we met her again next day at breakfast as we were staying in the hotel.
