We booked the Duke & Duchess Afternoon Tea with free flowing Prosecco on Sunday afternoon. From the moment we arrived the service was amazing! We had a complimentary drink as the table was not quite ready. The Maitre'D was fabulous and very attentive and made us feel really special. The actual tea itself was great and served in a wooden box which opened right up with various cakes, sweet treats and scones sooooooo yummy. Would recommend this in a heartbeat!!!

The service was impeccable. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The Presecco was indeed freeflowing! The tea , very good quality. Wonderful!
The sandwich selection was very different; in a good way! Overall a very enjoyable afternoon tea.

We had a lovely afternoon tea, my daughter unfortunately couldn't make it so it was just my elderly parents and me.
The restaurant was pleasantly cool and quiet so we could chat and the staff were polite, friendly and welcoming.
They didn't seem aware that I had booked through book-a-table and were therefore unforthcoming with the unlimited prosecco, however as my father straight away ordered kir royale it probably wasn't their fault!! I paid the full price and considered it well worth the money spent!
One of the reasons I chose the Cavendish was that hot savouries were served as well as sandwiches, these as well as the sandwiches were delicious.
The pastry on the tiny quiches and bannoffee tart was beautifully short, crispy and buttery, all the sandwiches were well seasoned, everything was very fresh and garnished attractively.
The cakes and scones which arrived in a charming sewing basket were excellent and there was plenty of,and choices of tea.
I had told the waitress it was my Fathers birthday and they brought yet another brownie within candle and piped greeting which he very much appreciated.

The afternoon tea was amazing sandwiches were all nice. Cakes were amazing. Service was a little slow we sat for what felt like forever with just water. When we were on the free flowing prosecco deal. Little slow on bring sandwiches out we were starving by the time they arrived. But service aside it was well worth the money

Thoroughly recommend Petrichor at The Cavendish - food was delicious - the service friendly and courteous - dined with the Feast of London deal - excellent value - Four of us dined and none of us could fault it. Restaurant was spacious and decorative - An excellent experience for all of us.

Food was fine but service terrible. Waitress could not describe lanb dish on menu. Went to ask and when returned could only say it was 'recommended'. Could not describe the limited range of wines in list - unable to say whether the Rioja was oaked as 'I don't drink alcohol'. Brought 175ml glasses of wine when 250ml ordered. Had to explain to three different staff members before remedied. Food took an age to arrive even though there were fewer than ten customers. Really, don't bother.

Petrichor is always our restaurant of choice when we are in London. The food is always excellent, beautifully presented, with a good choice of dishes. The wine list is also good. Service is always attentive and friendly. We particularly like the early evening menu which we find good value for money.
