Lovely food, different to the usual afternoon tea, particularly liked the warn mini quiche & Ham & cheese toastie
    Cakes & scones were all
Very nice too, all food was lovely & fresh.
Staff were very nice but a little slow refilling our bottomless prosecco & Had to ask for more tea too! Was nice place but restaurant lacked ambience, was very quiet! However I would recommend it as we had a nice afternoon & price was very good at £32.50 ... (service charge on top of that)

Our first time here. We asked if we could have scallops as a starter from A la Carte menu and main and dessert from the Express, which offers either 2 or 3 courses. However this is apparently not permissible ! So we just had the 2 from express as we did not fancy the starters on that menu. Very strange attitude, could not see the problem. Service was otherwise good and food fine.

Superb afternoon tea. Some different stuff on the menu and it was really great (mainly the fish). Free flowing prosecco was certainly that and they allowed us to stay beyond the 1.5 hours (obviously can’t say if that always happens)

    Would highly recommend.

We booked the Duke & Duchess Afternoon Tea with free flowing Prosecco on Sunday afternoon. From the moment we arrived the service was amazing! We had a complimentary drink as the table was not quite ready. The Maitre'D was fabulous and very attentive and made us feel really special. The actual tea itself was great and served in a wooden box which opened right up with various cakes, sweet treats and scones sooooooo yummy. Would recommend this in a heartbeat!!!

The service was impeccable. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The Presecco was indeed freeflowing! The tea , very good quality. Wonderful!
The sandwich selection was very different; in a good way! Overall a very enjoyable afternoon tea.

We had a lovely afternoon tea, my daughter unfortunately couldn't make it so it was just my elderly parents and me.
The restaurant was pleasantly cool and quiet so we could chat and the staff were polite, friendly and welcoming.
They didn't seem aware that I had booked through book-a-table and were therefore unforthcoming with the unlimited prosecco, however as my father straight away ordered kir royale it probably wasn't their fault!! I paid the full price and considered it well worth the money spent!
One of the reasons I chose the Cavendish was that hot savouries were served as well as sandwiches, these as well as the sandwiches were delicious.
The pastry on the tiny quiches and bannoffee tart was beautifully short, crispy and buttery, all the sandwiches were well seasoned, everything was very fresh and garnished attractively.
The cakes and scones which arrived in a charming sewing basket were excellent and there was plenty of,and choices of tea.
I had told the waitress it was my Fathers birthday and they brought yet another brownie within candle and piped greeting which he very much appreciated.
