A great meal in a wonderfully eclectic setting. A very relaxed meal of very high quality, delivered with courteous service.

Boasting 2 AA Rosettes, Park House Cardiff is a restaurant and wine bar with a modern British menu. The contemporary creativity of the food contrasts with the grand Victorian property in which the restaurant is housed.
The Park House menu focuses on using local Welsh ingredients to produce creative, British-influenced dishes. Start with parsnip and coco bean salad with pickled chanterelles and hazelnuts, or the rich chicken velouté with brioche and cep butter. Main dishes include the sumptuous venison with juniper berries, sweet and sour parsnips, foie gras caramel and roast pear, or the grouse with curly kale, game crouton and parsnip purée. Fresh fish dishes are also on offer, like Cornish turbot with Wiltshire truffle risotto, wild mushroom and truffle broth, and Parisienne vegetables.
Park House restaurant also serves a lavish afternoon tea of speciality sandwiches, hand-made cakes and pastries, and freshly baked scones. Added glamour can be added by choosing one of the champagne or cocktail afternoon tea options. An extensive wine, whisky and cocktail list complements any meal at Park House.
Close to the iconic castle, Park House is an 8-minute walk from Cardiff Queen Street Train Station.

The park house handled our needs perfectly. It was a one no pork, nuts or berries another no veg and another with no requirements. We all had afternoon teas but was tailored perfectly. We did have water but was not offered tap water and we were waiting outside for 10 minutes as we rang the bell and tried the door but it was locked. I would also note that the event was completely different to the menu online which made the meal a bit of a let down as we were all excited on the menu which mentioned the French treats offered on a trolley. Perhaps I booked the wrong afternoon tea but there was only 1 menu online and 1 I could book so maybe I added 2 and 2 incorrectly. They did deal with it effectively but would have loved what I thought I was booking. Didn't have a menu for teas offered and a tea I know they had on their website wasn't available. Full menus of teas should always be available for afternoon tea on my opinion as it really doesn't go off and you should be able to order some as you are getting low.

The restaurant is just such a lovely place to spend an evening. The food it great some of the best I have ever eaten, the drinks are very good, real cocktails not the pre-mixed stuff you get in a lot of places. The staff are very good and friendly. You can get much cheaper food and drinks if many many places around the city but it is worth the extra money to eat and drink there.

From the moment the waiter opened the door the experience was disappointing, he looked at us as though he wondered why we were there. The service was slow and the waiters were not welcoming and the actual afternoon tea was mediocre. We were only offered a choice of breakfast tea or green teas and were asked to pay 4 pounds for each bottle of still water which was brought to us in an open glass bottle.

Excellence de l'accueil, des plats présentés : produits du terroir de qualité, savamment cuisinés et accompagnés de façon originale pour une belle explosion de saveurs en bouche, bon conseil sur les vins
