Boasting 2 AA Rosettes, Park House Cardiff is a restaurant and wine bar with a modern British menu. The contemporary creativity of the food contrasts with the grand Victorian property in which the restaurant is housed.
The Park House menu focuses on using local Welsh ingredients to produce creative, British-influenced dishes. Start with parsnip and coco bean salad with pickled chanterelles and hazelnuts, or the rich chicken velouté with brioche and cep butter. Main dishes include the sumptuous venison with juniper berries, sweet and sour parsnips, foie gras caramel and roast pear, or the grouse with curly kale, game crouton and parsnip purée. Fresh fish dishes are also on offer, like Cornish turbot with Wiltshire truffle risotto, wild mushroom and truffle broth, and Parisienne vegetables.
Park House restaurant also serves a lavish afternoon tea of speciality sandwiches, hand-made cakes and pastries, and freshly baked scones. Added glamour can be added by choosing one of the champagne or cocktail afternoon tea options. An extensive wine, whisky and cocktail list complements any meal at Park House.
Close to the iconic castle, Park House is an 8-minute walk from Cardiff Queen Street Train Station.

This was given to us a gift, it was a 5 course tasting menu and it was all beautiful. The staff were very attentive but not over the top. The staff explained every course to us and I would say the only thing I did not agree with was a bottle of tap water for £4!!

Wonderful warm welcome. The waiter was particularly kind to my son (7) and it was wonderful that he was treated as a human rather than an add on which so many restaurants tend to do. After a slight hick up with the drinks order which ment we were without a drink for half an hour the rest of the meal went very well. Excellent service. Excellent food and wonderful extensive wine list! It was a shame the carol singer was absent but hopefully he made a full recovery from his hospital trip.

It was nice food, quality and presentation. Good service and nice venue. Overpriced though for the kind of plates; not too many menu, maybe because it's Christmas? But really good overall

Park House is a lovely historic house near the centre of Cardiff and enjoying views across Cathay's Park. The entrance is by a short side stairway beneath the main staircase but a warm welcome awaits from the staff and we were seated promptly at our table. We chose the Christmas set menu and were pleased with the mackerel and horseradish cornets and fish cake balls amuse bouche and pre-starter of mushroom soup with a wild garlic foam. The starter scallops were OK but I sensed were not seared immediately before serving. The turkey main was disappointing as a daube of breast meat was thickly sliced but seemed to have been cooked earlier and was somewhat tasteless. The Christmas pudding was served as a generous tart size slice dusted in icing sugar and was quite tasty as was the creme anglais. I was most impressed by the wine list and the choice of iconic wines by the glass. The wine pairings were well chosen. We took coffee/teas in the second floor lounge and the atmosphere here was cold and not well chosen decoration but service was excellent

Beautiful building full of charm .service was efficient and friendly especially the sommelier Robert who was informative and pitched his descriptions of the wines just right for us who do not have a large knowledge.
We enjoyed all the little extras and my husbands turbot was sensational as was the chocolate log.
A really special meal - Thank you.

We sat down around 12:30 for my wife’s birthday meal and over the course of the next 2 hours enjoyed the best food I have ever eaten. Not sure who the chef is but they deserve a pay rise, the rest of the staff were excellent too offering a perfect service from the time we got there to the time we left. I will definitely be returning!!

A wonderful evening with great staff. Food was fantastic full of flavour and beautifully presented. Our 3 course dinner turned into 7 courses with complimentary courses. Rare wines available by the glass added to our dining experience. First class. Park House has just had a revamp and it is a place to definitely visit. Cocktails, wines and excellent food.
