Great venue, excellent food and wine. We had a wine tasting dinner featuring Rioja wines and it was superb!

Boasting 2 AA Rosettes, Park House Cardiff is a restaurant and wine bar with a modern British menu. The contemporary creativity of the food contrasts with the grand Victorian property in which the restaurant is housed.

The Park House menu focuses on using local Welsh ingredients to produce creative, British-influenced dishes. Start with parsnip and coco bean salad with pickled chanterelles and hazelnuts, or the rich chicken velouté with brioche and cep butter. Main dishes include the sumptuous venison with juniper berries, sweet and sour parsnips, foie gras caramel and roast pear, or the grouse with curly kale, game crouton and parsnip purée. Fresh fish dishes are also on offer, like Cornish turbot with Wiltshire truffle risotto, wild mushroom and truffle broth, and Parisienne vegetables.

Park House restaurant also serves a lavish afternoon tea of speciality sandwiches, hand-made cakes and pastries, and freshly baked scones. Added glamour can be added by choosing one of the champagne or cocktail afternoon tea options. An extensive wine, whisky and cocktail list complements any meal at Park House.

Close to the iconic castle, Park House is an 8-minute walk from Cardiff Queen Street Train Station.

What a wonderful building, fantastic food, staff amazing. The sommelier was brilliant. £60 each for 5 course lunch with wine pairings including tip. Cannot recommend enough

Four of us took on the 8 course tasting menu, with iconic wine choice, together with 1 glass of the normal choice wine for the table, I have to say that the food was memorable but for all the wrong reasons. The two stand out courses were the duck which was tough, and the belly pork with eel which was so fatty. The cheese was good, although 1 sharing platter for the table, with fairly small portions, probably to be expected. The service from Alexander was excellent, as was the service and knowledge of the sommelier. £750 including 5 glasses of wine with each course (I'm sure there was no wine with the pre dessert dish) a bottle of champagne before the meal and a 10% service charge four people was not value for money in my opinion, and if we return again it will be probably be to sample lunch perhaps.
Would not suit disabled people, no wheel chair access that I could see, nor lift to upstairs toilet.

A wonderful dining experience. It combines graceful elegance and sophistication, great food and drink and attentive service. Top of the tree if this combination is important to you and you are dining in Cardiff city centre.
