The service was surprisingly poor. I have stayed at the Park Lane hotel many times and had afternoon tea there before and was a great experience. This time the service was very slow. We had a late seating, so it was not busy and it took nearly an hour before we were served. The scones are now mini scones and they were not as good as they used to be. Also bookings on the same day are not guaranteed the time that was confirmed online the hostess told me. On a positive not, the tea selection is very good.

The birdcage display for the afternoon set the tone for an elegant exquisite tea experience. Scones were kept warm in a tailor made bag, such thoughtfulness!

I pre-booked a vegan afternoon tea and the selection of sandwiches and sweets were amazing. The staff were very helpful and the surroundings were lovely.

We were looking for a festive treat which was fulfilled excellently by the sheraton grand. Lovely surroundings and ambiance matched with great service. We had the free flowing chapel down that flowed freely at a perfect temperature.

Service was slow to begin with but improved greatly over the course of the visit. Afternoon tea was superb/outstanding! The quality was amazing and the free flowing sparkling Chapel Down was indeed free flowing for the whole 90 minutes.. We were offered top ups on the sandwiches and cakes which was great. It was my wifes birthday and near the end of our visit the lights dimmed and our waiter appeared with a special cake with happy birthday written on the plate, the harpest played happy bithday and the waiter joined in which made the occassion extra special.

What a divine afternoon tea. A warm welcome (the harp player was exceptional) and such attentive staff. The sandwiches were fresh and very tasty. We asked for more and they were happy to oblige. The scones were warm and so very light and fluffy. Perfect. And the little cakes - all in the shape of teeny hats was just perfect. It was almost a shame to eat them as they were so pretty. We are glad we did though because they were delicious. And the free flowing Chapel Down well, it flowed! A truly wonderful experience. I’d go again.
