We celebrated a friend’s 70th birthday with an afternoon tea at the OXO Tower. We had a wonderful time, food and service excellent. The only complaint I would have is that we ask when we were shown to our table if we would like still or sparkling water for the table. Assuming this was part of the afternoon tea we ask for a bottle of still water and were surprised on receipt of the bill that we had been charged for it!! Aside from that the whole experience was very enjoyable and we would definitely return.

    Lunch to celebrate PhD graduation
Location overlooking Thames and St Paul's unrivalled. Set lunch of salmon and lamb just right. Wine guidance from sommelier much appreciated. Oxo Tower will be our "special occasion" restaurant of choice from now on.

The food was very good, beautifully cooked and presented and absolutely delicious. However the service was poor. The Summer Dining Tasting Menu was excellent . The Canapés were exquisite, the salmon delicious and the lamb perfectly cooked and incredibly succulent.
The very disappointing aspect was the service which was disappointingly and surprisingly poor . We were asked for our cocktail order on arrival but they did not arrive and none of the staff noticed . We were brought the Canapés which we thought were perhaps a pre drink starter. We eventually asked where were our drinks , there was no apology but the sitter went to get them and apparently the order had got stuck in the machine ! They brought them out and I asked if they would delay our food so we could drink them but then a few minutes later they brought our salmon and we had to explain again. The courses were not explained by all the waiting staff, one or two whispered them as they put them down. The waiters were not attentive and we had to seek out passing staff for extra water, bread and butter.

The afternoon tea selection was very good. Every item on the menu was lovely. The staff paid very careful attention to the fact that my husband has food allergies and accommodated extremely well with an alternative. The waiter was very careful to note which tray was exclusively for my husband.
