Restaurant description
With a menu packed full of Eastern and Western influences, OXBO Bankside offers a generous mix of small plates such as buttermilk fried chicken, bao buns, grilled sea bass, pork belly, tuna tartare, grilled courgettes and glazed carrots.
Those in search of comfort food can revel in the decadent Croque Monsieur, foxy fries (covered in pulled pork, chilli and cheese), steak tartare or OXBO’s signature Aberdeen Angus burger. Personal favourites from head chef Ollie Couillaud’s childhood at his family’s restaurant in rural France have also been added to the menu. Grilled bavette steak, foie gras parfait, oysters and many more flavour-packed French classics have been given a contemporary upgrade, fitting with OXBO Bankside’s modern yet chic dinning offering.
The dessert menu is a fruity affair with dishes such as blueberry trifle, banana and walnut cake, rhubarb cheesecake and valhorna chocolate mousse, served with amarena cherries. At the weekend, dine in style with unlimited prosecco to accompany your meal during Fizzy Fridays and Weekend Brunch.
OXBO restaurant is located in the heart of cultural Bankside, and is a 3-minute walk from Southwark Tube station.

Great food and service ?? The music in the background was too loud which made conversations difficult

This is my third review in the last 2 months. I do like this deal at OXBO but actual like the venue very much. I took a work colleague as it local to our flagship office. We both had the cream of butternut squash soup, it’s my first time having this and I have to say it was totally delicious. No bread was served as they have done previously when attended with other guests. Needless to say it was totally delicious. Mains were roast turkey with all the trimmings and very much a hearty meal, my guest loved it. I had the wild mushroom and black truffle puff. This was tasty but it needed more a better salad than frisée I would suggest as it was lacklustre. Would have added artichokes and sundried tomato to fill this this. Desserts were chocolate Yule log and crème brûlée - both delicious and decadent.

Despite it being a large restaurant it still felt intimate and cosy which was perfect for a rainy November evening. Myself and 2 friends dined on the 3 course and a gin and tonic menu, everything was really nice, the staff were attentive but not overbearing. I will definitely return.

I visit OXBO quite fair amount. This is because they offer the best meal deals local to work. The bar in the hotel is great offering the best drinks although slightly expensive. The current meal deal is amazing and the food a fantastic quality. Visited again with two friends and they loved it as much i we did. Will say the service this time around was better and our waitress was great. My only let down was the sparking wine isn’t a good one as such but we then switched to prosecco. Our food starters were butternut squash soup and duck liver foie gras parfait x 2, then main courses grilled sea x 2 and roast turkey and finally Christmas pudding, chocolate Yule log and creme brûlée Awesome meal, awesome venue highly recommend

Lovely meal and great service. Only feedback would be that more choice on the set menu. Chicken is normally a safe bet but this wasn’t an option.

Met some friends for lunch and had the set menu which was very good and good value. I had the salmon starter and the sea bass main and then plum tart with ice cream/ The free gin and tonic which was also included was appreciated. The wine was reasonably priced for a 175 ml glass. Whilst the waiting staff were very keen and attentive they do need further training as twice they tried to remove our plates when not everyone had finished that particular course. One also reached across me to put down someone's starter rather than walking round the table and serving it from behind.
