Restaurant description

On the ground floor of the Hilton London Bankside Hotel, OXBO Bankside uses local produce to create flavour-packed European dishes. An elegantly styled dining room William Morris-inspired design makes for a uniquely chic dining destination.

Regional produce such as Cornish monkfish cheeks and Borough Market Portobello mushroom is highlighted in dishes such as duck breast with artichoke purée, mandarin jus and sweet potato crisps. Beautifully presented desserts such as blueberry and fudge bread and butter pudding provide a mouth-watering conclusion to the OXBO Bankside menu.

The William Morris-inspired design at OXBO London features bare brickwork and metal screens to produce a cool, urban ambience which is enhanced by the open kitchen. Once a Victorian distillery, the aptly named Distillery bar features aromatically infused cocktails which celebrate the site’s history.

Paul Bates leads the Hilton Bankside’s innovative restaurant which is a 5-minute walk from Southwark Tube station.

The overall experience was relaxing and didn’t feel pretentious at all! The staff were friendly and were very attentive without making us feel like we were being rushed. We had the set menu with three courses & the portion sizes were generous. The only negative would be the portion difference between the two entrees; grilled squid and the prawns. I had eaten the prawns in two bites and my partner had the squid, which was 6 times the size of mine. But besides that the food and Malbec was delicious, would go back again!

£45 brunch with free flowing prosecco. The food was very nice. Glass was constantly topped up and the staff were very friendly. Only slight let down was the music. The musician himself was very good but we could hardly hear him which was a shame.

Amazing Brunch, awesome chefs, plenty of choice and everything is delicious. Can not fault the food. Only the service can be inconsistent but there was a big birthday party so maybe it took a lot of attention. I really like the location too, you can go for a little walk on southbank afterwards. Will go back and already recommended it to many people.

We booked the 3 courses for £21 set menu which included a glass of Prosecco. The food was good and well presented. Overall very good value. The restaurant is spacious and the tables are not too close together. We were serve by Elvira who was attentive but not intrusive. She look after us well. Overall we enjoy our dinning experience there and definite will be back for future visits.
