Winner of a Michelin star for its bold innovative menus, OX presents beautiful dishes made using only the finest available seasonal produce. Overlooking the River Lagan, this acclaimed modern eatery features a simple, contemporary interior, and a more secluded mezzanine dining area for intimate meals.
Showcasing the very best in seasonal Irish dining, OX crafts unique tasting menus with inventive flavours and stunning presentation. Fresh tastes of the sea can be found in dishes like the lobster with pickled mussels, buttermilk and horseradish, while the succulent châteaubriand is complemented with black garlic and sprouting broccoli.
Strawberries from Antrim for dessert are combined with jasmine and lime, and there is a selection of Irish cheeses to finish with too. A wide selection of Irish drinks are also served at OX in Belfast, such as gin from Cork, whiskey from County Laois, and beer from County Down.
A beautiful riverside fine dining restaurant in Belfast, OX is an 8-minute walk from Central Rail Station.

Lovely staff - would prefer if they ask if we'd like our drinks topped up as it feels intrusive
Really like the décor
The bread / butter and the chateaubriand and the sheeps milk yoghurt / liquorice were the favourites
Golden beetroot / St Tola dish wasn't as tasty as others and so was least favourite
Thought cheese board was badly presented
The gins are very overpriced and sharing a tonic should be suggested
Overall the price is extortionate
Lovely idea to give you the menu as a keepsake

Drove up from Dublin to eat here again. We love the place and Ox just keep upping their game year on year. For me one of the best restaurants in Ireland. Looking forward to our next visit.

I had the three course lunch and my favourite dish was the scallop in vin jaune starter, it was bursting with flavour and the scallop was beautifully cooked. I also enjoyed my Donegal gin and my game pie mains and fig and white chocolate tart, the pastry was so good!

An excellent dining experience in every regard.

While the food was beautiful the portion size of each course was too small. I would have expected the main dish and dessert to be slightly bigger. Also the measure of wine you served was shocking, way to small. Instead of going with the paired wine, I ordered by the glass ( 3 in total). Me my husband left feeling hungry and dissapointed and paid £170 for the previlage.

The service was perect and attentive. The staff knowledgeable and happy to explain all the different aspects of each dish. But while the food was certainly delicious it lacked the wow factor that we have experienced before. We do not dine often but have had a handful of dinners and lunches and for some reason this one was the most disappointing. I can't put my finger on it - I am not a critic, but there was nothing that made us stop in our tracks. It is expensive so I would think again before booking.

Absolutely superb. It cannot be beaten for value and the quality that it provides. It is my favourite restaurant in the world

Incredible food, great staff, perfect matching wines, but we felt duped when the bill arrived. We were charged for cheeses and a wine with the cheeses, but had not been advised that these were not part of the 6 course tasting menu. At no stage had it been even suggested that these were at additional cost - we were simply asked “would you like your cheese before your dessert?” and “would you like your wine to accompany the cheeses now?” - disappointing.

We very much enjoyed a very relaxed lunch. Overall the food was excellent and the service likewise was very helpful, friendly and efficient. Our one critical thought was that the venison in the starter was not very tasty. Otherwise, we really enjoyed the rest of the dishes and the wine. Many thanks

Severely over priced!!!
Hard to understand staff's description of dishes.
Wines with wine paring were disappointing.
Not a lot of big flavours in food.
Did not feel full at the end.
I had stated on booking it was my daughters 21st birthday and they had to be reminded at the end.
Otherwise service good and a different dining experience,
But cost will stop me going back again , as not good value for money.
