The starter ( scallop, cauliflower, etc.) and the dessert (candied apple) were really delicious. The service was outstanding.

We had an excellent meal, each course was well explained by staff who were enthusiastic and friendly. The venison was a particular favourite of mine and my partner is still speaking about the cheese in the amuse bouche.

Both had tasting menu with wine pairing. First three courses were underwhelming/bland/under seasoned. The main duck course was delicious but the duck was cold!(meant to be hot). Pre desert was blah and main desert was very good. The most disappointing element was the size of the wine portion with each course. We got about a shot of wine ( no exaggeration) 5 minutes before the food arrived each time which meant there was not enough wine to enjoy with the food. I have never experienced such tightness with a tasting and wine pairing before! Also the restaurant itself is a bit too “casual”, more like cheap and cheerful! Great expectations but very disappointed.

I met a friend who came up from Co. Wicklow. She had read a review in the Irish times. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch, the flavours of the dishes where excellent. We both felt the service could have been more “polished”. We were served by 4 possibly 5 different staff, they were friendly and attentive, but I think the experience might have been heightened with 1 or 2 at the most, who would have known what we had ordered without us having to clarify at each course. All in all we enjoyed our visit and I hope my comment is received constructively.

Honestly loved it - booked the autumn tasting menu just for the novelty of it, and ended up really understanding the aim and intention of tasting menus in general. Exciting ingredients, combined and showed off gloriously. Loved the wine (Riesling), the trout, the scallops and the grouse especially. Very helpful staff from the moment we arrived. Created great alternatives since I can't have cow's milk too. Thanks to everyone at Ox for being our favourite special-occasion place.

This is a first rate fine dining restaurant. The food is presented beautifully and is of the highest quality - we return again and again! The front of house staff are welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and efficient and they contribute enormously to the experience of a visit to Ox. Highly recommended!
