Formerly known as The Drovers, The Gaping Gander, The Rowlands and the plain old Helter Skelter, Oswalds@Helter Skelter is a good old-fashioned pub serving real beer and real food. The first floor of this Cheshire restaurant serves a mix of traditional and contemporary cuisine, including meals such as black pudding with potato rosti, bacon and a tomato sauce, swordfish with chilli prawns, chorizo and wild rice and duck with a plum and ginger sauce, while the 'Home Comforts' section offers dishes like a cask ale pie served with chips and peas. A pub that serves good food and a good pint - It doesn't get much better than that!

We went last night for an evening meal. My partner had the steak and ale pie and I had the Bream. The meals were absolutely delicious, cooked to a T! There is plenty on the plate, infact we had to leave some as we wanted room to try the crunch trifle. We weren't disappointed with that either, yum yum, large portions and finished the lot. Million times better than your average pub meal, the food was quality and we've paid more in restaurants where the food wasnt as good. Service was excellent and we'll definitely be going back! Sooner rather than later!! If you want to treat yourself, try it, you wont regret it.

Always excellent food and dining experience. We normally eat around 7pm. We recommend Tito friends and family.

Had an evening meal on a Saturday. Starters were both really nice. Main courses were both ok. Lamb was tasty but over cooked. Service was ok but not over friendly. Having said that it was good value. Probably good for a family meal out but not really suited to a romantic evening out or special occasion.

Weve dined here quite a few times as a couple and as a group and never had any complaints. The staff are always helpful and pleasant and the food is amazing.

The dining experience was very good, a newish menu is always a good thing as I have visited for a few years now ,and very few hiccups.I had lunch this time. I tend to judge a restaurant on how the chef cooks the fish[most difficuilt I believe!].Hake was beautiful, as all the fish have been for me.Starter was excellent,a black pudding scotch egg with a lovely side salad[makes it].Dessert was very nice, but time for a bit of a change here maybe?.Except the Belgian waffle,Its a must!.

We booked a table for 8.45pm Saturday night. The service was excellent. The food was all very very tasty....not necessarily the cheapest meal but worth the price we paid as was delicious. There was a hen party in so a bid rowdy..but they were all enjoying themselves...it just changed the ambiance a little. All round we had a very good dining experience and wished we lived closer to go back soon!!
