The Osteria Romana on Berlin's Uhlandstraße is not far from the Ku'damm. The restaurant serves authentic Italian cuisine which the De Cupis family have brought with them to the Spree from their native home near Rome. The service is friendly and informal, and the way the food is prepared is anything but quick and cheap. Ingredients used in the dishes are handpicked, always fresh and often really exotic - such as horse meat. The chefs are very meticulous in the way they handle the food. They do all the preparation themselves. The cooking is done with humour and creativity. The gnocchi with stinging nettles are definitely worth a try. The Romana can seat 60 diners. The restaurant is also a suitable venue for parties. There is room out on the terrace for another 40 people.
