Loved the seafood and the vegetarian platters. Had tea and some water that had a nice watermelon flavour to it.
Saw some great cocktails being served at the tables next to mine. I will return and have cocktails too.

The best Dim Sum and atmosphere! Take your friends to have great evening together!

Like a teen-ager becoming victim of sudden popularity, Opium shamefully let itself melt down to sub-par service. Used to be my super-regular hideaway in central London, but then some initial hints of fatigue became occasional episodes of rudeness (!) and thereafter of outright dis-service. A real pity, possibly different management could bring an otherwise excellent concept back to its former splendour?

The overall experience at Opium was good. The cocktails are slightly pricey, but for double measures in a busy touristy area, you can understand why they are expensive. Between two of us, we tried the Tiger, Rabbit, Rat and Pig cocktails from the Zodiac menu, all of which had very interesting flavours and unique identities. We weren't so keen on the Rat cocktail (which arrived with dry ice theatrics), but the other three were super tasty and they all came in cute glasses, which were shaped like their respective animal. During our visit, we also ordered a Dim Sum platter and a side of siu mai, all of which were wonderfully steamed.

The location itself was attractive, since it seems hidden away and mysterious. The decor in the venue created a lovely ambience, however I do think that the music playing in there ruined the atmosphere slightly as it did not match and it was playing very loud. Even though we had booked a table, it seemed to be extremely busy in there (it was only a Wednesday evening!), so it was quite noisy and we were very cramped next to other customers.

I was under the impression I had booked a table at a restaurant but it was just the bar. I ended up craving real food.

Lovely quirky, atmospheric little bar. delicious inventive dim sum and good size portions. Service was a little slow when the bar started to fill up but the staff were friendly and courteous. Great soundtrack too!

Always love it here, delicious dim sum and even better cocktails. The dim sum menu is not extensive so if you want a feast this is not the place to go. Think of it more as cocktails with a side of dim sum. Try to book as it gets very busy.

Delicious cocktails, bar staff were busy (peak time on a Saturday evening!) but so friendly and helpful. We only stayed for one cocktail each and didn’t eat. Much more a cocktail bar than a restaurant.
