One Aldwych have created a magical afternoon tea experience that features indulgent treats inspired by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Indulge your inner child and adventure into the magical, mouth-watering world of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with One Aldwych's enchanting afternoon tea - inspired by Roald Dahl's iconic story

In the heart of London's theatreland, feast on scrumptious savouries such as our not-quite-as-it-seems salmon and beetroot macaron and juicy roast beef and horseradish, then journey on to fabulously fluffy floss and a box stacked high with wondrous cakes, sweets, mallows and creams - all washed down with chocolate or lemon sherbet tea, juicing room mix or water pistol punch cocktails, or fizzy lifting Champagne.'

Lovely afternoon tea, amazing service, children really enjoyed it however we felt the hotel lacked a bit of atmosphere. Some music from the film playing in the back ground would have helped, or perhaps some cardboard cut outs of the characters. Also sandwiches weren’t really suitable for children although they loved the puddings and scones. Lovely but expensive. Thanks

Best afternoon tea I have ever experienced. Lots of little surprises alone the way. Lovely attentive staff who were more then happy to help and guide us through the dishes. Stunning food and would definitely visit again!

One of the best afternoon tea I've experienced. The food was next level, loved the weird and wonderful treats, bubbling cocktails, and the scones were ??. I've already recommended to people. The staff were amazing, super friendly without being annoying and made the already great experience even better. My partner is gluten free, and the gluten free selection he got was amazing, usually GF afternoon teas are pretty terrible but this was way better than he expected, only issue was the gluten free scones were dry and crumbly but the rest made up for it.

Booked the afternoon tea inspired by Charlie and chocolate factory for my partner birthday Wow what can I say as soon as I entered the building the scent of chocolate got my senses going , decor of venue was perfect for afternoon tea , the set up was out of this world each set up on the table was hand crafted and elements is smoke and ice , we had so much variety to choose from the selections of teas crafted to match the savoury and sweet in this afternoon tea! We had an amazing host called Fanta who talked us though each element and deserves recognition on her delivery of service , I would definitely return back already dreaming about the sweet treats like the Lemmon candy floss!

The actual tea was delicious, we had three pots of the chocolate chai as well as the cinnamon tea. The savoury sandwiches are delicious, even my husband's gluten free plate. The sweets are delightful. The candy floss is lemony and delicious, and we ordered several refills of the minty chocolate milk!

The Charlie and the chocolate factory afternoon tea was really good! Loved the fact that you had different savoury treats rather than just sandwiches, we were offered more which was nice but you really didn’t need more as you get plenty of sweet treats after which were all so different and tasted amazing. Also liked that you could pick champagne or a cocktail as well as having plenty of tea choices, I would recommend the Cinnamon Toast one. Best afternoon tea I’ve had.

We booked this lovely afternoon tea last minute due to a conference being cancelled last minute but we still wanted to meet up for a good catch-up. We all where coming from different directions to london, being central it was easy for us all to get to. We all had a lovely time and loved the food. We only wish we could eat it all, but we where able to take home the leftovers which ment a lovely snack on the train home or our familys got to enjoy the food as well. We had a nut allergy in our party who was easy accomodated on the 2/3 things they where not able to have with lovely alternatives. I had one of the cocktails that was smoking when it arrived. When the desserts came out that was another wonderus moment, we where like kids in a candy shop :D Can I just say the bacon chutney was amazing! A very lovely afternoon!!

chocolate milk was lovely, pineapple cream delicious, sausage roll nice and bacon chutney yummy. The cheesecake brioche was a bit out of place. My friend is vegetarian and she got one less savour item despite paying the same. Wasn’t impressed with a £11 service charge being added to the bill when only two of us, we should have been able to leave our own tip.
