Overall the experience at the Rocks was terrible I know that using the word terrible may seems strong but believe me it's not. The restarant was recomended by the owner of the hotel were we stayed he said that their mussels was the signiture dish and the fish dishes in genral were excellent. When we came to order our food from the waitress we asked for mussels the reply sorry we have none run out . We chose another sarter we asked for the special which was on the board Dover sole again sorry sold out . We then said we would have the cod in a chowder sauce and spring onion mash . She returned sorry we have no cod left at this point I was not happy . I said what can I have she said monk fish however I did not like what it came with. The waitress said I could have the monk fish with the chowder sauce and mash so OK that's what we will have. Two minutes later she came back and said sorry we do not have any mash or chowder sauce left however we have now got cod but you can only have it grilled with chips or new potatoes. So we had to settle for that it came it was awful the fish was dry as the rest I can't describe. The whole experience was a disaster the waitress who was called Shannon did her best but the management ect was useless and basically non exsistant. My advice to any future customers is go some where else.

One of the best evenings out hubby and I have had in a long time. The food was amazing, I had the New York Pork bonbons and have to say it was a taste sensation... food heaven! Hubby had the mussels as a starter and could not stop commenting on how delicious they were. Our mains were equally impressive and the young man that served our table was polite, friendly, efficient and made our evening very welcoming.

Been a couple of times before: a restricted menu but always satisfied with the meals - well prepared and presented particularly fish dishes. Tables in front part very small and close together but early evening no real problem. Chocolate desert really good,

I had a Sunday lunch in here when I first moved down in September and it was excellent. I booked a table for my birthday on 14th December the waitresses were very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. The food presentation and taste were incredibly good although my duck parfait was for me a little bit loose. All the main corses were absolutely brilliant and the creme brûlée was the best I have ever tasted in my life and as a head chef in the city of London for 30+ years that’s how good it was Well done chef!!

Excellent food, service and ambience. A table by the window with sun streaming through and a view across Torbay. What's not to like?
My scallops starter, steak main and crème brulee were all first class.
