Our waiter was really friendly and attentive. The food was amazing and is the reason we come back time and time again. We feel it’s some of the best in the bay. Lovely location and outlook, which also keeps us coming back..

Great venue, easy booking on line. Menu has a good choice and food was superb. Bottled ale went well with the Steak. Would welcome a larger range of Ales from Local Brewers in Torbay.

No flaws. The food was most excellent, as it always is (mussels/Prosecco special this time). Margarita was the best I have had (all cocktails are outstanding, subtle in taste, and perfectly made) Outstanding service by all staff. Great location facing the harbor. Gem of a place.

We were looking forward to eating here but in all honesty we are all really disappointed. First there was fingerprints on a knife (the bottom end). We ordered 3 roast dinners - 2 x beef and 1 pork. One of the beef was really chewy and partly inedible the crackling on the pork was soggy, not crispy at all. The cauliflower cheese portion was absolutely tiny - barely enough for 2 people let alone 3, so had to ask for more. Also asked for more gravy - when the waiter brought it over we thought it was a joke - a tiny dolls house size jug - barely enough for 1 person. We asked for more roast potatoes as they were “unlimited” but felt uncomfortable asking as we already had to ask for more gravy and cauliflower cheese, and ask for a new knife, and salt & pepper. The food was lukewarm. We told the waiter this and he offered a free dessert which was good however we felt uncomfortable still so turned it down I never complain in restaurants but this time it was just too much to not complain about. The price was not cheap, which is fine, but I’ve eaten many Sunday lunches across Bristol & Devon but have not been this disappointed before. Ridiculously small portions and nowhere near hot enough. The reason for 2 stars is the waiters were polite.

I’m sorry to say we were disappointed by the food. It wasn’t particularly well cooked and was expensive too. It was OK but no more. I had steak and chips and the steak was really charred on the outside (so bitter to taste) and the fries tasted as though they’d been cooked in oil that needed replacing. We were a large party and no one wanted to bring down the mood, so we just drank more wine, ate as much as we could face and didn’t complain.

Welcoming and great atmosphere. Lovely food. Some menu choices including wines we chose were not available but the standard was good. We will be back
