Restaurant description

A beautiful 16th-century inn, Oddfellows Mellor is featured in the Michelin Guide, Good Pub Guide and CAMRA Pub Guide. This wonderfully cosy setting on the edge of the Peak District National Park features exposed wooden beams, rustic log burners, outdoor seating, and live acoustic music events.

Gourmet British recipes with modern twists are the backbone of the Oddfellows Mellor menu, and are all made using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. To start, there is Bury black pudding cake with poached egg and pepper sauce, while sharing platters include local ham, Littlewoods of Marple pork pies and beetroot slaw. Classics like beer battered haddock and chips sit alongside succulent 28-day-aged steaks, and there are also vegetarian options like celeriac and tarragon risotto, and vegan curry.

Puddings at Oddfellows Mellor in Stockport are an indulgent affair, with treats like dark chocolate fondant, and red wine poached pear served with brandy snap. The wine list includes bottles from around the world, and there are cask ales on tap at the bar.

A truly special rural pub filled with traditional comforts and gourmet flavours, Oddfellows Mellor is a 7-minute drive from Marple Rail Station.

Very professional and polite service. The quality of the food remains consistent and good to see the new dishes on the menu beyond. Nice touches for our wedding anniversary from Tia.

We attended the pub/Restaurant following the recommendation of other diners and not having been to the Pub for a good number of yeas we were very well pleased with the choice. The only thing was when the menu was handed out we were told the Pate & Chicken were not available as they had sold out only to have a table nearby not being told the same and the chicken was ordered and served to them again not all sweets were available and whilst that was a little disappointment it could be viewed as a popular choice off the menu and for consideration at a future attendance Portion sizes were good and adequate service a little slow but again it was worth waiting for once it arrived Prices were ok in comparison to other restaurants

Nice pub restaurant, very friendly hard working staff. The assistant manager was very nice.Had the steak pie with h/m chips and vegetables.I thought the pie looked like it was a piece cut in half between the two of us.It was a little dry, with not a lot of meat in it.The steak pudding was the best, and so was the h/m chips.Would try again but something different. The sunday lunch looked great.
