Restaurant description

Found on the west side of the 32nd floor of London’s skyline-dominating Shard building, Rainer Becker's Oblix offers his signature style of upscale, sophisticated, urban dining. A flash open kitchen, complete with mesmerising spit roast and sizzling charcoal grill, brings a touch of theatre to the clean-cut, minimalist dining room.

Alongside succulent meats from the rotisserie and supremely fresh seafood dishes, the Oblix menu features a range of luxury meat cuts finished on the josper grill. Enjoy dishes like lamb chops with harissa and yoghurt, grilled Dover sole with parsley butter or Porterhouse steak to share. Diners can be directed through the staggering wine list at the interactive sommelier station: the first of its kind in London. Choose from cherry-picked international bottles, and peruse some of the world’s most-prized vintages.

Afternoon tea at Oblix West pays homage to the capital, blending ingredients sourced from favourite local purveyors found throughout London. The super-slick bar at Oblix in London offers a more relaxed vibe, with guests treated to express deli options and decadent weekend brunches, while a visionary cocktail menu offers mixes designed to match the food.

In one of London’s most sought-after settings, Oblix West at The Shard is a 3-minute walk from London Bridge stations.

Oblix operates a smart dress code. Gym trainers, running shoes, flip flops, sports wear, and baseball caps are not allowed. Please note any decision regarding the suitability of a guest's appearance will be entirely at the discretion of the management. Oblix West also operates a no under 16s policy after 18:00.

Food was amazing. We had the 70 pound degustation & a bottle of Spanish wine. It was magnificent. Lot of food & amazing desserts.

Food was excellent, 5 Star. House wine was very acceptable too. Service was slightly marred, as they could not provide brown sugar for the coffee.

We had the fixed price lunch menu option with a glass of wine. The welcome, ambience and food quality were all good, though we weren't offered a window seat so our view was limited by the presence of other diners. The wine was ok, though they didn't top us up unlike, we noticed, at some other tables. It is a bit of a cheek to charge £4.50 extra for side orders with a fixed price lunch menu in which the mains lack any vegetables. With 13.5% discretionary tip, no sides (on principle!), but coffee at £3.50/person, the total came to just shy of £90 for two of us. Good value? - No, I don't think so.

We chose the Shard to celebrate 50 years of friendship & wanted somewhere special. We were not disappointed. The welcome was excellent & the service brilliant. However, 2 of us chose the mackerel as a starter only to be told a few minutes later that it was not available. We re-chose the burrita (?) which was a fancy name for soft cheese on toast! My 2 friends had the pork & reported that it was great. I had the salmon which was rather underdone, but ok. The desserts were delicious. Our waiters were brilliant & were accommodating when we asked to have our deserts near the window to appreciate the view. On the whole, a very pleasant experience.

We had a wonderful experience at Oblix. The restaurant is stunning and it’s nice to walk straight in where the chef’s are producing the menu. The views are amazing, especially with the darker evenings. But the most impressive thing is the Signature menu, which was absolutely sublime. Artistically present with beautiful flavours. Wine is a little on the expensive side do opt for a cocktail. Will definitely be returning here but may have to wait for a special occasion as a bit on the pricey side. Saying that worth every penny.

We had my husband and I a wonderful experience. Everything was perfect from the start to the end : Champagne and wine, the tartare, the lobster, the seabar and cheese cake ! And we had an exceptional view on London. Even the waitress was so kind to accept to move us after a while to give us the opportunity to sit near the window when a couple has left. We will come back for sure !!!

Food was excellent. I would recommend the crispy squid, Caesar salad and burrata for starters. Main courses: the lamb was superb as was the pork and linguine. There was no kids menu but our waiter kindly arranged for a tomato pasta to be made up which was very good. Service was outstanding! Sommelier was great and our waiter was lovely. Not a cheap meal but good value for money. We are already planning our next trip there.
