Restaurant description

Found on the west side of the 32nd floor of London’s skyline-dominating Shard building, Rainer Becker's Oblix offers his signature style of upscale, sophisticated, urban dining. A flash open kitchen, complete with mesmerising spit roast and sizzling charcoal grill, brings a touch of theatre to the clean-cut, minimalist dining room.

Alongside succulent meats from the rotisserie and supremely fresh seafood dishes, the Oblix menu features a range of luxury meat cuts finished on the josper grill. Enjoy dishes like lamb chops with harissa and yoghurt, grilled Dover sole with parsley butter or Porterhouse steak to share. Diners can be directed through the staggering wine list at the interactive sommelier station: the first of its kind in London. Choose from cherry-picked international bottles, and peruse some of the world’s most-prized vintages.

Afternoon tea at Oblix West pays homage to the capital, blending ingredients sourced from favourite local purveyors found throughout London. The super-slick bar at Oblix in London offers a more relaxed vibe, with guests treated to express deli options and decadent weekend brunches, while a visionary cocktail menu offers mixes designed to match the food.

In one of London’s most sought-after settings, Oblix West at The Shard is a 3-minute walk from London Bridge stations.

Oblix operates a smart dress code. Gym trainers, running shoes, flip flops, sports wear, and baseball caps are not allowed. Please note any decision regarding the suitability of a guest's appearance will be entirely at the discretion of the management. Oblix West also operates a no under 16s policy after 18:00.

Amazing food, the rotisserie sucking pig was superb but the dessert, chocolate bar with bourbon ice stole the show for me. Service was fantastic as well. Great wine and beer selection and I’m going back my next date night. Took my sister for her 40th and she was really impressed.

We went to Oblix West for dinner for my husband’s birthday. Other options in Shard were ruled out because we had a toddler with us who wasn’t allowed in other restaurants. We were seated at a table in the middle of the restaurant with the promise that for dessert we’d be moved to a window table. The ambience was overall brilliant. The starters (king prawn and crispy squid) were good but tiny portions. My main course BBQ cod was lovely but my husband’s tenderloin steak was just a grilled piece of meat with no marinade or seasoning and instead of medium rare they made it medium well!! My husband doesn’t like to complain in such situations so we had to endure him sawing away at the tough piece of beef!!! To make things more disappointing, the server came back saying the window table will not be available after all as there is a “waiting list”. Why did they not put us on the list when we entered the restaurant an hour ago?! Upon my giving feedback at the end of our visit to the server, he just kept nodding and shrugging. This is not the kind of service you should be providing to customers who are paying nearly £80-100 per head! Definitely not going back.

Great Place to dine. Service is second to none. Will definitely be visiting again. Just like to say there Virgin Mojito was the best I've had.

Everything about the experience was excellent. The greeting at reception, being taken to the bar in Oblix East and then on to our table in Oblix West was very smooth. We could just sit back and enjoy and relax. The food and service was superb. A very good venue for mixed age groups.

We came to the Oblix for my husbands 40th birthday ! I made a mistake of arriving 1 hour early. We went to the bar for drinks! It was wonderful, great style bar area relaxing music and my 2 children were welcomed! The restaurant staff were very helpful with our needs and requests and tentative to clearing dishes quickly after each course which is great as I hate having dishes in front of me for ages after eating

Very good. Food delicious and service good. Only down side was 2 starters took a long time to arrive and after our mains we were asked to move tables- a first! Generally a lovely meal.

Was a decent experience, however was quite annoyed about the fact that we were seated on stools beside each other overlooking the view, something which is more suitable for a quick coffee not a meal which is going to last almost 2 hours! Not comfortable in the slightest. Asked several times to be seated elsewhere. It was my husbands birthday and it would have been lovely to see his face whilst enjoying our meal. On a more positive note the waiter was great and attentive. Food mediocre, definitely won't be rushing back.
