A slick retreat in one of London’s swankiest postcodes, Obika Mozzarella Bar South Kensington specialises in its namesake cheese. A glossy lacquered charcuterie bar is filled with rustic artisanal goods.

Crafted using tantalising imported ingredients like cured meats, olive oils and fresh pasta, the Obika menu champions the finest Italian produce. Wonderfully simple plates allow robust natural flavours to shine through, with the mozzarella menu taking centre stage. Guests choose their preferred cheese, with which tasty accompanying dishes are served. Using meticulously-made dough left to stand for 48 hours, sumptuous pizza toppings at Obika restaurant include spicy salami, buffalo mozzarella or prosciutto.

Adventurous Italian-style twists for dessert include pear and walnut pecorino with chestnut honey, or chocolate and almond cake with latte ice cream. Rich and smooth coffees are brewed at the Obika South Kensington bar, and a lengthy Italian wine list showcases fine vintages.

Offering simple cuisine in a high-fashion setting, Obika in London is a 6-minute walk from South Kensington Tube Station.

The £20 pp deal was good value for money. The prosecco that came with it was delicious, as was the mozzarella. Because it was a deal, the selection was naturally very limited but I think it's a good introduction to the place. Really enjoyed it. Service was warm and friendly. Perfect for us as we had an evening at the Royal Albert Hall straight after so it was a short cab ride away.

This restaurant is just as good as the counterparts in Rome, and brings some excellent Pizzas to London. Close to South Kensington tube station, but just outside the "if it's raining"-acceptable range of around 10 minutes by foot. The restaurant itself is medium sized, but can be crowded in the evening, a reservation was definitely needed for when he ate here (Saturday 9 pm).
