Disappointing. Had booked Wine and Dine deal at Hanbury Manor via Bookatable. Was told on arrival that this deal had ended last
Month. Had to do a la carte, which was not what we booked for.

Situated within the stunning Hanbury Manor Marriott Hotel, Cast Iron Grill specialises in steak and grill classics.

Championing the finest seasonal ingredients, the Cast Iron Grill menu blends classic flavour combinations with tried-and-tested cooking methods, with a range spanning from lighter bites, to hearty mains. Trusty favourites include the signature hand-pressed burger, while globe-trotting recipes include the Odeiga-spiced chicken hoagie, and charred cauliflower tabbouleh.

Juicy, 28-day-aged cuts of premium British beef lead the impressive range of steaks and grills, and Cast Iron’s toffee & ginger skillet pudding offers an indulgent conclusion. Hand-picked wines are sourced from across the globe, and a list of heady cocktails includes mixes like the Old Cuban, and a pink-hued G&T.

Special menu 2 meals for £59 not available despite having booked weeks earlier, it should have been pointed out it would not be available on the day of our visit (bad customer relations???). Consequently spending more money than intended (not a happy customer!!!! And we are customers you need on a regular basis!). Terrible Camembert meal not disappointing. Had to complain about a loud crowd of about 10/12 women welcoming friends as they arrived, screaming, laughing and not sitting down all walking around the table......horrendous noise when trying to have a quiet meal in beautiful surroundings. SUGGEST when you take large bookings, you request they meet in the bar BEFORE coming into the restaurant!!! We had to move from our table to the balcony for our desserts, customers deserve better.......especially when spending a lot of money. This was our first visit. Were we impressed with our first experience? Absolutely not, I do not wish to visit again.

bland, uninteresting interior, mindless piped music and totally empty on Saturday lunch time. Tired food, boring menu, overpriced. Waiters very nice, pity they have to work there.

We had booked this restaurant for seven people as we were staying at Hanbury Manor for a school reunion event. The experience was terrible. The food was appalling. Three of us had crab linguine which was dry and overpowered with garlic. One of us sent this back and had no apologies from the waiter. There was another table of friends attending the reunion and when we got up to greet them the maitre d' told us in an extremely rude manner to return to our table. Four of us had had lunch in this restaurant earlier in the day and a club sandwich arrived with burnt toast. The staff were all incredibly rude both at lunch and dinner and the food was appalling. We will not be returning to this restaurant again.
I have given this one star as there is no option for no stars.
I would not recommend this restaurant under any circumstances.

Service terrible, food ok but not brilliant

The service was very slow. It took 30 minutes before anyone took our order after being seated. It was then 45 - 50 minutes before our food finally was served. We had 3 boys with us and we'd all ordered burgers so not a complicated order really and with no offer of complimentary bread whilst waiting, it was a long wait in total. Fortunately the food was at least hot when it arrived.

They offer a very limited menu for children, especially he fact that my boys were aged 10, 11, & 14 -- too old for mac cheese and gougons but not old enough to warrant a full adults menu, especially given the high prices.

Location beautiful as always. The starter and pudding selections were very good. The carvery was extremely poor. The chicken was dried out and looked as though it had been sitting for some time. There was nobody around to carve the beef and lamb, both of which were overcooked. The potatoes were not even remotely crisped and looked as though they had been boiled and seasoned without actually roasting them. The vegetable gratin hadn't been replenished so we shared one small portion size between 4 of us.
This carvery is more than double the price of most and quite honestly I could have got a better meal at any of the local pubs for a fraction of the price.
    nice wines, even if overpriced.
