A stylish, modern brasserie in the heart of Belfast, Novelli at City Quays is a refined choice for French and Mediterranean dining. Afternoon teas are also served, and the al fresco terrace is a great choice for when the sun's shining.

The Novelli at City Quays menu offers a diverse taste of the Mediterranean, and includes a good selection of vegetarian and vegan options. There are light starters of local seared scallop with cured salmon belly and parsley root, moving on to succulent choices from the rotisserie like rosemary lamb rump, and roasted chicken. Prix fixe menus are a popular choice for quick meals, and there are dedicated children's dishes on offer as well.

Afternoon teas at Novelli at City Quays in Belfast are filled with beautifully crafted cakes, pastries and sweets, while the savoury options include tastes of the local area, such as smoked Irish salmon, and Kilkenny roast ham.

We had a fabulous meal at Novelli last Saturday night. From being greeted and shown to our table through to the end, I can't fault the experience. Staff were attentive, food was delicious and overall ambience in the restaurant was superb. Whilst all courses were delicious, special praise goes to the tarte tatin, it was amazing. Would really recommend it.

The staff was lovely, food was beautifully presented and tasted gorgeous. The setting was very minimalistic but spot on!

The staff members were excellent very mild mannered and covered our every need for comfort. The food was rather disappointing to be honest the bread came out after around a 15 minute wait and when it arrived it was extremely dry bordering on being stale so I believe it took a long time as it was being defrosted which started off on a bad note food wise; I had the lamb which was nice however very chewy; the best dish was the potatoes which is not a nice thing to say when you go out to have a nice meal and the potatoes are the highlight. The dessert was nice but yet again not fantastic; I was honestly expecting it to be much much better for being a Novelli restaurant

All dishes were disappointing. Scallops were ok but were difficult to eat in the bowl. The broth lacked taste and whatever cut of meat was added (bacon?) was ridiculously tough. Similarly, the prawn signature dish was served in a dish that was difficult to eat out of. Plus there was not enough sauce - although prawns were nice enough. Both main course meats were tough - sugarpit loin of pork and rose veal ragu. The ragu with pappardelle was particularly poor and lacked flavour. Neither of us finished our meal. Could not recommend at all. There are far better restaurants in Belfast.

Enjoyed our visit. Group of 5. Only issue was the limited menu at Sunday lunch. We had all been looking forward to the a la cartel selection which looked good.
Having said that what we got was good and service excellent
