This is the 2nd time we have eaten in the last four stays. The reason we are here and not the very good local pubs is we both wanted a drink. The food is average and not very exciting. That said it's presented well and tastes just fine. The staff are very good. However for a four star hotel it's not up to par. The food served in the bar is better.

A perfect balance of the 3 tiers. Served very quickly, vegetarian savouries were provided for one person as requested. Always great fun to eavesdrop on the other customers who are moaning about the lack of condiments on the table and things being "slightly overlooked". Very impressed how the staff always keep smiling ;)

The hotel is nice and location beautiful just a shame the food was a let down, wasn't enough of each option for everyone in our party and the selection was awful and so was the presentation. When asked we were advised that it was a selection of choice and random what you were given and you all weren't given the same thing! However looking around the room all the other parties had one each of each selection and there selection was very different to ours! We seemed to have the left overs! Also one of our party had a nut allergy and knew about this before we arrived that they thought it acceptable to put on the same plate and no advise which had nuts in!? The restaurant manager was rude to the nut allergy lady as well.

What a lovely way to spend an afternoon! Decadent, exquisite and indulgent... Lovely surroundings, high end ingredients, and a truly enjoyable experience. Special mention to Jose, he was just fabulous!!

It was ok but service could have been better. We had to go and find people to ask for fresh tea and coffee. Then more milk so felt disappointed with the attention we received. Also twice I notified that the hen was gluten free which they hadn't prepared for therefore there were not any nice cakes for her so she had a substandard tea I feel. Don't think I'd come again

Excellent - staff attentive, tea well presented and delicious. Too much for two of us! We will definitely return and recommend to friends. Marie and Jose went out of their way to make my wife's birthday tea special.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We were served with in minutes. When the afternoon tea arrived it was loads of food. Proper finger sandwiches with the crust cut off. We had 5 little cakes and 2 fruit scones to eat. The place was spotless and can eat outside. We went for a walk around the grounds as it was a lovely afternoon.

We arrived for an afternoon to celebrate my mother's 6th birthday and we reserve for 3 of us but when we arrived table was set up just for 2 be dissapointed as we did especially mention it was my mother's 6th we wait and the waiter dud set up the table really quickly for us . The afternoon tea was brought to us looking really glamorous and delicious . The selection of sandwiches was superb and had so many cakes for us to enjoy . The traditional scones were absolute delightful . Overall a good afternoon tea just they should pay more attention to the bookings before setting it up and maybe take a little extra care on the request as the hotel asked you while you book .

Totally underwhelmed and extremely disappointed best sums up my experience. Bought it as a treat for my best friends birthday. Web site looked good and since we were shopping in Winchester, Norton Park seemed an ideal location. Firstly, we were the only patrons in the room (conservatory) and there was no background music. This meant that there was very little atmosphere that music and chattering would have brought. We were seated at a coffee table which meant the experience lost the traditional image and expectations of a 'posh' afternoon tea. In fact it felt a little more akin to a business meeting over coffee and sandwiches. The waiter was pleasant and polite. Décor clean and tidy. Food was acceptable but nothing to write home about. The sandwiches were very disappointing. Some were dry / crusting which suggests they may have been made prior to our arrival. The selection was disappointing i.e. we didn't expect Cheese & Pickle and the beef was inedible - thick and tough. Salmon good and the scones and cakes were fine. Which all-in-all sadly turned £25 per head for a fizzy (Prosecco) tea from fair and good value at the time of booking to poor value for money and underwhelming by the finish. I certainly wont be returning to Norton Park Hotel or recommending it to anyone in future. To make up for the disappointment, we have already booked the Ritz for tea next year.
