Afraid to say that it was a great disappointment. I had eaten at your hotel near Warrington last year and saved up a visit to Norton Park for a special birthday meal. At £28 my steak was mediocre and my wife’s Sea Bass totally ruined by the chorizo that it was “dumped on”. The onion salad with steak was miniscule. The restaurant and staff were ok but All in it was a meal quickly forgotten and an evening ruined.

My partner and I visited at the weekend just gone staying two nights in the hotel. As a treat my partner's family bought us a voucher for afternoon tea which we booked for the Sunday afternoon at 3pm. Unfortunately we were left very disappointed by both the service and quality of the food served. The key issues were:- -We were taken to a table out of sight of any staff and left meaning each time we faced an issue we had to walk to the bar and wait to be served. -The sandwiches were soggy and almost inedible -There was a large chunk of eggshell in the egg sandwich -There was no jam served with the scones -We were given four plain scones and no fruit ones -The cakes were stale -No one came to replenish the tea We have had afternoon tea at lots of places but this was by far the most disappointing and left our trip on a sour note. We are not local to Winchester and will not be returning to the hotel which overall does not anywhere near live up to its 4* status.

Disappointing. Steak not cooked to how we asked so sent back. Wife didn’t eat her chips as they were underdone. Short staffed

Restaurant was nice. Tables well spaced. Good ambience. However, they forgot our order so we waited a long time for the main course. Then steak was then over done. We were offered to have it recooked but it was getting late and we wanted to eat together and not wait for a recooked steak. The shine was taken off the evening. Service was very good and the wine was excellent. We were booked into the restaurant for a second night but decided to go into Winchester instead after the Friday night experience.

We booked afternoon tea for mother’s day treat. We were a little disappointed that there was no Earl Grey tea but enjoyed the food

overall we weren’t that impressed with Norton Park’s afternoon tea experience. The food itself was quite nice, though the chocolate was a bit too rich as we couldn’t finish a few of the cakes - on the other hand the sandwiches and scones were lovely. My mine gripe was with the service; firstly the waiter seemed to be the only person serving in the bar and afternoon tea area and was additionally not told of our booking in time so our table wasn’t set up. Once the waiter finally came to serve us, He offered us afternoon tea in the bar, which wasn’t what we had wanted and had to ask to have our afternoon tea in the actual afternoon tea section! To be fair he did apologise for this and we understood it wasn’t his fault, but he then proceeded to forget to bring our plates, knives and napkins - we had to go and ask him again for them - again once he had finished serving those at the bar. We were not offered a top up on tea so be warned you only get 1 small pot of tea for the price which isn’t great. It was also a windy day and someone had left a fire exit open which kept banging away - minor thing but did add to what amounted to be a rather disappointing visit. We won’t be returning, nor will we reccommend the afternoon tea either.

This was a 21st gift. I have to say the food was delicious but the ratio of sandwiches to cake was wrong. Too many sweet things. Also it was a little inattentive. We were the only ones having a cream tea just to the side of the bar area and it was very much DIY. We had to ask for drink and refills and no one came to check on us to see how things were. Overall the food was delicious but the attention to detail was very disappointing I’m afraid to say
