Awarded 2 AA Rosettes for its precision, authenticity and finesse, Nipa Thai Restaurant is one of only 15 UK Thai Restaurants to have received the Thai Select award from the Thai government. This Zen-like setting sits in a secluded, leafy spot in upmarket Lancaster Gate.

Showcasing time-honoured Thai traditions and making use of fresh, pure ingredients, the Nipa Thai menu is the work of head chef Sanguan Parr. Made using authentic spices flown in from Thailand, favourites include pad Thai, the rich massaman curry, and crisp fried salmon with minced prawns, chili and spices.

Cleansing and exotic dessert flavours at Nipa Thai in London include mango sticky rice with coconut cream, or passion fruit and lemongrass baked custard with ginger shortbread and chocolate sorbet. A complementing range of drinks is offered at the bar.

A beautifully elegant dining room features intricate teak panelling and original Thai artefacts. Nipa Thai Restaurant sits next to Lancaster Gate Tube Station.

Please note that Nipa Thai restaurant will be accessible from Island Grill restaurant’s entrance from 19th July toward the end of August.

Very friendly yet professional welcome. Maitre'd superb.
Food first class and great ambience........
A lovely restaurant only spoiled by some of the other diners thinking it was appriopriate in such a nice restauarnt to dress in shorts and football shirts. But that does not detract from the overall quality of the food and servcie.

Nice welcome. Shown to window seat. Staff friendly and attentive. We are very fond of Thai Food and have visited Thailand on many occasions. Found the food was excellent and up to the standard we had expected. (Our last visit to this restaurant was many years ago and at that time it had a good reputation.)

    It’s amazing here! I’m a regular attender!

The customer service is equisite! A lovely atmosphere and the food is amazing.

They are also very good at considering dietary requirements. I can’t wait to attend again!

We have dined here previously and were really pleased to find the same high quality experience. Exceptionally friendly and attentive staff, great choices of food and a window seat overlooking the park - what more could you want!

Love the decor, staff very attentive, food was full of flavour, some of it a little too spiced for my palette but that is OK, I will choose differently next time!! We went for the wine pairing, this again was rather 'sharp' I will choose the wine separately next time.

This was the second time in Nipa Thai after our first visit last December. We booked for the second time and brought our friends as well because we liked the atmosphere and the food so much. We had high expectations returning but left with a bad taste in our mouths unfortunately. As we sat down at our table it was immediately highlighted to us that we were supposed to leave in 1 hour 15 mins despite the booking confirmation clearly said the table was for 2 hours. When we pointed this out it was accepted by restaurant staff that indeed the table was for two hours. We thought this was strange because it is not nice to arrive somewhere only to have to immediately discuss when one would leave, and also ambitious given we wanted to eat a full dinner from appetiser to dessert. Nonetheless, we kept a positive mindset, however we were made to wait at least half an hour for the main courses to arrive as the kitchen was slow, meaning that we were at the 2 hour mark when we were asked whether we wanted dessert. Given we still had some of the two bottles of Laurent Perrier we ordered we decided we would have dessert as well, but before being able to finish the bill was put on the table with a badly disguised annoyed look by a lady appearing to be the restaurant manager saying we really had to leave as it was mentioned to us the table was only for two hours and that the next guests for the table have been waiting at the bar for a while. At that point we were half way through with our desserts, and some of us had a full glass of champagne in front of them. Given it was made clear we weren't welcome anymore, despite racking up a bill of £450 (of which we were kindly given 25% a la carte discount) and still eating, we had to neck down the last glasses of champagne, quickly finish our desserts, and leave with a very bad taste in our mouths. Having to eat against the clock and not being able to finish our desserts properly is not what a fine dining experience should be.

The food was very good, although not spectacular. The service, however, was absolutely excellent and the staff very friendly. The Paneng curry was especially delicious, and we also recommend the shared starters, recommended by the chef. A bit of a pricey dinner, but the quality of food, service and room was very nice.
