Lovely to drive by a massive deer herd on the way down the driveway. We were seated on an outside table, as requested, due to Covid19 nerves. It was lovely in the gorgeous sunshine, however due to the number of wasps attracted to our sweet offerings, we did retreat inside with the help of staff. The Beatrix Potter theming for the afternoon tea was nice but think a traditional one wouldn’t have looked much different for the adults. Loved the edible plant pots and the carrot cake tasted amazing!!! Am pleased to have finally stopped in the hotel after years of driving by and will definitely look at a stay next summer, as was so peaceful.

An amazing afternoon. The perfect setting for an afternoon tea with my 4 year old. Totally relaxing and lots for little ones to do. The food was delicious and the presentation beautiful.

Everything was lovely. Mostly the staff were absolutely amazing. It was an extremely hot day. All staff were relaxed and helpful with no stress at all. My son and I went for a cycle and without any effort one of the staff went out of his way and walked down the drive to point us in the right direction. Thank you. The food was great, my son loved the pizza and we had superfood salads. Service is so important and just being nice to people goes so far. Thanks cant wait to come back. If you have kids this is the place.

Our Beatrix Potter afternoon tea was good and original, our 2 year old didn't eat much as her attention was diverted by the play equipment which she loved. Pleasant waiters, only improvement would have been if they had worn masks. Changing area had books and toys which was appreciated. Tea pot was metal and very hot.

Overall our experience wasn’t great. When we first turned up staff walked past me multiple times before I was finally taken to a table. We were then left for a long period of time before even being asked what we wanted to order. Once we received our meal no one came over to ask us whether we were okay. No one came over once and we could have walked out without paying and no one would have noticed as trying to find someone to take our payment was mere impossible. Although the service wasn’t great the food was amazing!

The restaurant itself was lovely but service wasn’t great. Waiting around, and wasn’t offered more drinks. Had to ask for the bill after a long wait. Overpriced for the experience.

The relaxed ambiance of the restaurant and the friendly staff nothing was to much for them to do.All of the dishes that we had were extremely good and when you watched the other people being served their food also looked very nice and well presented. We had the plaice and steak as a main and the local crab on toast as a starter would definitely recommend and the staff were knowledge of the menu and meals was exceptional very well done Amy.
