Food was really good and the decor in the restaurant lovely. It was quiet when we visited which was a a shame but not unexpected for the first week of January.

The service was terrible, first time ever never left a tip. We were taken to our table and then left given menus. after about 20 mins they came and asked if we had decided and said no as we were given the wrong menu, they assumed never asked if we were Groupon menu which we were not. They eventually bought the standard menu. At no time until we asked did they ask if we wanted a drink. They then came back 10 mins later and asked if we had decided, we then said do you think we could have a drink. everyone around who came in after us had been given a drink and some had even received their meal. When food came the starter was terrible but I suppose what you would expect for £3.50 but Tortilla put on plate just as they have put straight from packet Guacamole very bland. Main meal was quite nice but size of it I did ask question whether we were being given Groupon food. We were in a booth, very unprofessional staff were hanging over the back panel to talk to us and take away plates etc. Even basics like salt/pepper sauces we had to sign for staff to come back to get these. This restaurant is run by someone who has not got a clue about etiquette so how can he train these young people who I am sure are still at school in day the correct way to treat customers. I have to say we will never be visiting this restaurant again. How it ever got a 4.5 star on bookatable I don't know.

Food was excellent ... a good menu and clearly a good chef. All staff were very friendly, polite and helpful but in some respects they did appear to lack experience.
Some improvement could be made to the atmosphere in the restaurant. It is large and open ... felt a bit like a "canteen".
Our guests were all favourably impressed and all said they would come again.

Delicious food but expensive prices. Quiet and comfortable (sofas) lounge area. Temperature in restaurant and lounge too low. Guests felt cold the whole time. Waiting service could’ve been better. Often had to chase up staff and orders.

This is constructive criticism.
Food was very good. Fresh baked bread to complement the starter was not so good.
The staff and service was superb. The fastest service I have ever experienced, anywhere.Superb.GREAT STAFF.
It was a strange hotel and dining room. No clearly recognisable reception area. Seemingly a table opposite the entrance (which again wasn't clearly identified).
The whole establishment needs 'softening' up. No pictures on walls in dining room; in corridors; in reception; in toilets etc.
Needs a feminine touch to give it a big shot of homeliness.
Far too austere and 'cold'. Remined me very much of 60's and 70's Russian hotels.
The lack of soft furnishings and carpets etc made the restaurant sound like an industrial canteen. The noise bounced off of the walls and it was difficult to hold a conversation.
A great shame because the staff and food were of high quality.
Outside lighting and signage needs to be significantly improved. The route back to the carpark at night was very difficult and leaves you open to slips and trips. Better path and directional lighting would be a massive advantage.

Unfortunately, our experience this time was not a positive one. We first eat here on Christmas Day 2016 and it was an amazing experience - the food was outstanding and so was the service and we gave them an outstanding review and have recommended them to others. Since then we had a Sunday lunch there which was outstanding food and the service was very good. However, on this occasion it lost its sparkle. From the moment we were greeted and our special seating request was not acknowledged, then we were asked if we were "on Groupon".....we weren't and they should have known that from the initial booking, to the dirty seats, lacklustre service and radio with the news on in the background, what had been a special place for us has become somewhere we wouldn't bother to go to again. Even the food was nowhere as good as previous visits although it was ok and I guess if you are getting it cheap on a deal, then it's probably ok but paying over £90 for a Sunday lunch? No it wasn't worth it. We were left eating without drinks, a waitress leaned across me from the other side of a booth and I didn't even know she was there until a hand came across and took a glass away - no "excuse me" and that was generally how the service was - not friendly, not warm, just delivering food and taking things away. Such a shame and such a contrast to how it was. I don't know what has happened to change it so drastically - particularly the service and food - but we wouldn't go again.

Such a great surprise, we were already staying at the Needham House Hotel for our anniversary and we booked dinner at the SG4 so we could have drinks and enjoy ourselves without having to drive to town. Ordered a Greek Salad as starter and everything was so fresh. My main was one of the specials of the day, a delicious chicken roast. Desert was also great, with a beautiful plate of lemon curd. Everything was delicious and staff was very helpful and nice.

Having indulged in one of the best afternoon teas (at Needham House hotel), the staff were aware we weren't as hungry as normal! So I had a starter - the blue cheese soufflé, followed by sharing the cheese platter - the soufflé was light and tasty. Cheese board was generous and excellent variety of cheeses.
