Served in charmingly laidback surrounds, dishes are packed with the country's best wild food that is native to the UK.

From a River Cottage-trained chef, the Native menu showcases natural, foraged and seasonal ingredients. Dishes evolve with the seasons, but starters may include the likes of wild rabbit and prune pastilla with pickled walnut salad, or smoked pollock croquettes with lovage mayo. For mains, discover dishes like venison rack with spiced cabbage and pommes boulangeres, or flame-grilled clams with ham hock broth and homemade sourdough.

Desserts at Native Covent Garden are no less inventive. Joining a classic English cheese board are twists on favourites, such as pain perdu with basil and lemon curd ice cream.

    After having accidentally booked for the wrong night, the helpful staff were not only able to accommodate the change in booking but also allocate us the booth table for the night of festivities. This was my fourth time back at Native over the last year, I am a massive fan. The food is crazily creative and with a smooth Faviken like finish. Everything is delicious and they were able to cater for my friend's dietary restrictions. The menu is superb, whilst restricted with the number of options, it still somehow caters to cover all types of vegetables, meats and seafood. Absolute taste sensation. Our table had the deer and the fish, and every plate was (not literally) licked clean. The deer was lovely and tender and without containing an overly game flavour. The house made focaccia was light, moist and seasoned to perfection. The little starters at the beginning were delicious as well. Considerable ingenuity must be applied by the chefs with the creation of their menu.
    The staff are all fabulous. So very friendly and welcoming. they know every detail of each meal and are also well versed concerning their wines, which are priced reasonably compared to competitors. Whilst the wine list doesn't contain a thick book of options, it still has the odd curve ball wine on the list.
    Dessert is a blast taste sensation. Fortunately the creativity doesn't stop at the mains, but carries through to the dessert. Having the beetroot appear was like getting a free upgrade at a luxurious hotel, you want to dig in and see what the fuss is all about. And you won't be disappointed. Light, fluffy, smooth, and it left you wanting for more.
    I can't fault this place, which is probably why I continue to return. Earlier in the year we tried the tasting menu and that was 3 hours of exhilaration. Definitely give it a try.

    Very creative, love the concept and food looks great; however we felt it lacked some punch in flavour, so it didn't quite live up to expectations.

    Food was excellent and interesting. Service was excellent. The position of the restaurant is great but the main dining room is in the basement and it is very small, meaning it feels a little cramped and not super-relaxing, but that's a small price to pay for everything else!

    The food was amazing! To pick a favourite dish is quite hard as they were all so delicious but if I had to pick one it would be the deer. I also love the decor and cozy feel about the place. The only down side was the rather high service charge added on at the end (which we paid) but felt it was a bit much in top of the bill especially as there were only 2 of us.

    Been here several times and each time the food has been wonderful. Really imaginative, original dishes. Service is good too. However, the prices have risen quite steeply over the past months and are now quite high, even for London. Unfortunately this means we may not be visiting as often as we'd like.

    The service was excellent but the food, while looking very attractive, fell on flavour and quantity. I don't mean that it lacked flavour, rather that the complexity of flavours confused the dishes. The waiters reeled off lists of ingredients for each dish, but I honestly couldn't locate some of them. If I hadn't eaten the bread, I'd have left hungry. The venison main accompaniments were sweet, a bit oily and overpowered the small portion of meat. The menu sounded great but the taste verged on the trying-too-hard.

    We hated our table. It is a small restaurant and there is a high chance of being stuck on a row of 4 tables for 2 that are so close you're not able to sit down without the table next to you moving their table. Food was nice though.
