Excellent & unusual menu lovingly presented. Very good wine list, well priced. Attentive, hardworking wait staff. Well paced meal.

Praised by top critics including Jay Rayner and Grace Dent, Native in Neal’s Yard pairs innovative cooking techniques with a passion for produce, creating a menu of flavour-rich, seasonal dishes. Served in charmingly laidback surrounds, dishes are packed with the country's best wild food that is native to the UK.

From a River Cottage-trained chef, the Native menu showcases natural, foraged and seasonal ingredients. Dishes evolve with the seasons, but starters may include the likes of wild rabbit and prune pastilla with pickled walnut salad, or smoked pollock croquettes with lovage mayo. For mains, discover dishes like venison rack with spiced cabbage and pommes boulangeres, or flame-grilled clams with ham hock broth and homemade sourdough.

Desserts at Native Covent Garden are no less inventive. Joining a classic English cheese board are twists on favourites, such as pain perdu with basil and lemon curd ice cream.

Tucked away in Neal’s Yard, Native restaurant in London is a 3-minute walk from Covent Garden Tube Station.

Outstanding, lovely food, well explained with information given about he various dishes. Service was outstanding and quality of food and drink excellent. We will be returning. Best dish was the mutton, although the millet cake was a close second. Free truffles as it was my wife's birthday were a plus!

Lovely food and service– the dining room, though, could use a bit more air.

The food was okay, not as great as we'd expected from the reviews. The service was poor, particularly from one of the young male waiters. Also, our table was right by the toilet and people kept leaving the toilet door open. We could see the toilet seat from our table a fee feet away. Not a goo experience, will not be returning or recommending to others.

A little expensive for the price point. The service whilst pleasant didn of match that price point either. The food was fine but not amazing. And we were lucky to sit upstairs but the space is not particularly nice. Fairly average.

Great food and nice service. Slightly weird that we could not tip the staff through our credit card and we had to leave cash. Take cash for this reason. Also, they only do coffees that are simple i.e. americano, espresso.... dont even think about asking for a cappuccino or a decaf! The food is great, but is a little punch

It was our first visit to the restaurant. The staff was friendly. The food was excellent. I had the crab starter which was very prettily presented and tasted great. The courgette main was extremely tasty and the hispi was nicely done. The others in my party had different choices and everyone liked the food. The truffle after was rich and delicious.

Loved the ambience, service impeccable, and our entrees and mains were beautiful in both flavour and presentation. However the sides lacked finesse and seemed to come from a different chef- rustic and robust rather than delicate and subtle, like the main dishes. I loved my Dover sole but would have preferred a simple green salad to accompany.

The food is beautifully presented (and also incredibly tasty). We had a lovely evening. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. My one criticism is that the entrance to the restaurant (most tables are downstairs) does not reflect the experience you get when you dine here. I understand the restaurant has a small space but I do think it may deter some di era. I must say brilliant meal though.
