Mustard never fails to give a great experience, varied menu & slightly different, well presented food - mine was good, but my friends chose even better! GF bread available, big plus.

A bright, inviting neighbourhood brasserie, Mustard in Shepherd’s Bush is home to down to earth all-day dining. Enjoy weekday breakfasts, weekend brunches, and a comprehensive selection of gourmet dishes throughout the day in a smart setting of plush leather furnishings, with a small al fresco seating area at the front.

The Mustard menu celebrates iconic British dishes made with seasonal produce from across the country. To start there is Granny Smith apple and curry soup, along with seafood treats such as avocado and London Cure smoked salmon with wholegrain mustard dressing. Tuck into hearty mains like Norfolk chicken breast with creamed potatoes, as well as succulent steaks and the signature burger topped with stilton, or try something from the dedicated vegetarian and gluten-free menus.

Cocktails at Mustard in Shepherd’s Bush continue the proudly British theme, with a good selection of English ales also served, as well as wines from across Europe.

A great example of modern British brasserie dining, Mustard restaurant in London is a 9-minute walk from Goldhawk Road Tube Station.

Brook Green is a reasonable walk from Hammersmith but it is worth it for this local gem. We were a party of 5 for Father's Day brunch and we had a lovely relaxed meal. The food is good bistro fare with interesting twists plus a short but well varied wine list. If you want jus, foam or flowers on your food go elsewhere but for good value honest cooking using carefully selected ingredients try Mustard.

On a wet, cold day I had lunch here with a friend who needed cheering up because her husband is ill in hospital. Mustard did just that. The welcome is warm and the service charming. Uncomplicated food is cooked well and served promptly. From our cozy, table by the window we could observe the rain and wind and be very glad we in Mustard.

Fabulous food, amazing staff and a wonderful time
Catching up with friend not seen for ages, told staff why we were slow ordering, who said let them know when we wanted anything...
Fabulous evening resulted, with refilled water and drinks and food as we wanted (catch up time!). Staff were great, there when we needed and left us alone to catch up as we needed
Food bread as entree, then 3 different starters soup/calamari/salmon...all agreed fabulous
Mains salmon / steak / sea bass....all agreed fabulous
Was a bit nippy out and staff obliged turning heat up inside so just right
Great time, great food, will be back - staff are amazing and make things perfect. Been here before and same staff, they are just the best and much appreciated.

Place looks good and the food was of a generally very good standard - roast, burger, waffles (stingy with the maple syrup though) and dessert. The thing that stands out most though was the service, which was very poor, clearly disorganised and unattentive. To compound the experience, they ran out of fresh mint (for 3 fresh mint teas), which I appreciate can happen, but there was no apology or attempt to appease the situation in any way.

A lovely local restaurant. Varied menu with some interesting flavour combinations. Highlight was fantastic and accommodating staff. Would definitely return.

I had reserved a table for 1pm but was held up and didn't make it to the restaurant until about 1.30. That presented no problem to the friendly staff and we were quickly shown to a table. We ordered an aperitif and I enjoyed a very acceptable Bloody Mary as we chose our food. As I recall it took a while to attract someone's attention for the order to be taken. I ordered one of the day's specials which was sea bream on a bed of peas and rice and my companion ordered a steak - no starters. Our waitress told us that these might take time to appear 'as it's taking a while to get the food out.' And so we waited. And waited. And waited. When it eventually arrived, around 3/4 of an hour after our order was taken, my sea bream was very acceptable. My companion said she found her stake quite chewy, but it had a good flavour. However the pleasure of eating the food was almost eradicated by waiting an eternity to consume it. I should perhaps declare here that I have known the proprietor, Laurence Hartley, for many years since he and his then business partner opened a charming French bistro - Brula - in Twickenham in the mid-1990's. Laurence actually greeted us on a previous visit to Mustard, and thinking about it the food took almost as long to arrive on that occasion as it did on this. He's a lovely guy, gave me a glass of champagne when I called in to see him at his former restaurant 'Orso' in Covent Garden, and we were as pleased to see each other as we always are. But for goodness' sake put a firework up your chef's backside at Mustard, if it wouldn't contravene Health and Safety kitchen regs ! For that reason I'm only giving this experience 2 stars.
