My friends and I had a wonderful afternoon tea at Muriel's Kitchen in South Kensington. The restaurant is small but very cosy with a lovely interior. The staff were friendly and attentive. Our afternoon tea consisted of sandwiches, delicious scones, chocolate mousse and a small tarte. Everything was delicious! Next to the tea, we also got a nice smoothie. The presentation is what really makes it a lovely experience as everything is presented on a small picnic table. We had a great afternoon and I would certainly recommend Muriel's Kitchen for a nice afternoon tea!

Very disappointing given past experiences here. The server was abrupt, and mangled our order such that one of our breakfasts didn’t come out. When we asked the manager she said rudely “he’s over there fixing it” and walked away. The server had ordered one of the orders as extra food, which were added to one of the other dishes. Two other orders weren’t as ordered but we decided not to complain because there was no guarantee the right food would come out. Then the server said the dish that was mis-ordered was on the house, but then the extra food that wasn’t ordered was still on the bill for the plate it was on. The server and the manager both insisted we pay for that food! Finally took it off the bill. We spent way too much time during a breakfast with old friends we hadn’t seen in two years being bothered by the service and food. When gratuities are optional I usually over-tip at breakfast because the waiters work just as hard as at more expensive meals, this is the first time I haven’t left a tip when given the option in about 10 years.

Liked the busy atmosphere. Staff members were polite and welcoming. The lunch menu was disappointingly restricted, particularly starters and dessert. As a result, we only had a main.

Booking with bookatable was smooth and easy as usual. The place is small and too crowded. Service was very bad. We waited 20 minutes to give our order and other 20 just to have the drinks served. They also have mistaken the food order. Food quality was good even if choice is limited. Also the placed is too noises

The overall experience was fair but we expected more. It is all cery tidy and the decoration is cheerful but it can be really umconfortable to stay so close together to the other diners - loud and challenging to move around. We've booked for afternoon tea after a concert at the Royal Albert Hall - the food was good, but the scones and tea could be better. The real challenge was to fit all items over a tiny table and still have some space for the 4 of us to eat them. Will definitely try other restaurant next time.

Afternoon tea was for 3 people, very nicely presented but only 2 scones for 3 ... Had to ask for a third scone and more clotted cream and jam. Otherwise service was lovely, we were served after people arrived after us, which is odd. We ordered a very nice bottle of prosecco £29. It was very noisy at 3pm and calmer towards 5pm. I would go again with friends or family.
