Situated in the Cairngorm National Park in the Scottish Highlands, Muckrach Country House Hotel is a beautiful refurbished Victorian shooting lodge. Gourmet Scottish and continental flavours are served, with a resident piper often playing, and a snug bar that makes for an intimate spot to relax with a nightcap.

The finest produce from across the Highlands is used on the Muckrach Country House Hotel menu, starting off with breakfast dishes like Inverawe oak-smoked kippers, traditional porridge, and a full Scottish fry-up. Later in the day, there are hearty game dishes such as Argyll Estate venison, as well as fresh seafood choices and vegetarian delicacies like mushroom risotto.

Sundays at Muckrach Country House Hotel in the Highlands are the time for generous roast lunches with slow-cooked meats and all the trimmings. Afternoon teas are also available, while from the bar a polished wine list is served, as well as a fine selection of single malt whiskies.

A wonderful Highland escape, Muckrach Country House Hotel is a 5-minute drive from Broomhill Rail Station.

The waiting staff were of the highest standard. We could not fault them in any way. They were polite, helpful and efficient.
The waiting area before our meal was most comfortable, one reason why we return.
The food was delicious. Beautifully cooked and well presented. The food portions were more than adequate but the doggy bag was most useful as my husband had his for his evening meal !!
We will certainly be back to enjoy your hospitality and beautiful surroundings both inside and outside.

Avery pleasant experience, Food was excellent and the staff very pleasant and co-operative. The ambience in the restaurant was very relaxed and made the experience all the more pleasant. Although the restaurant was busy you felt as if you were the only people there.

We were most impressed with the serving staff. They were friendly, obliging and efficient. Very pleasant at all times. The atmosphere in both the restaurant and the lounge was most relaxing and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The food served was first class. Never and I mean never have we tasted fillet steaks as good as those served to us along with your beautiful pepper sauce. You must have an excellent butcher and wonderful chef. Already, we have told some of our friends of the experience. We will be back soon.

Had Sunday lunch recently. Good all-day menu including traditional Sunday roast. The venison pie was delicious, as was the creme brûlée, though (as usual) the pie wasn’t really a pie but a casserole. Sticking a topping of pastry on to a dish of casserole does not make it a pie! Service was great and friendly and ambience in the restaurant and lounge was very relaxing. Would we go back? Oh, yes! Anytime!

Went for light lunch with my parents for their wedding anniversary. Bright and airy conservatory restaurant, great, friendly service and a good selection of dishes.

We arrived with a reservation for afternoon tea, and were directed to a table overlooking the lower gardens. The beautiful scenery with large trees was lovely as we waited for our waiter to come to our table.

We felt that our server either did not like us or did like his job because he was not friendly and did not seem to care about our service or experience. We were not told what was on the trays before us, asked if we needed anything during our meal, and had to find someone for our bill.

The afternoon tea prepared by the chef was delicious. All items were fresh and very good. The service was bad.

Neither my wife and I are generally complainers, but we do expect a certain level of service when we dine.

The facilities are very well maintained, beautiful, and seem well appointed.
