Restaurant description

Offering a range of dining destinations under one roof, Mr Cooper’s adds modern touches to this historic setting. The striking dining room features trees and birdhouses, with a green and white colour scheme ushering the outdoors in.

The restaurant offers classic dishes with exceptional flavours and is the only establishment in Manchester to have its own in-house butcher ensuring you the best cut of meat. Seasonal dishes include aged beef fillet tartar with English wasabi and cured egg yolk, or the Mr Cooper’s aged limousine burger with charcoal mayonnaise, smoked Applewood and skin-on chips. For dessert, try the espresso martini chocolate delice with hazelnut ice cream.

Delivering world class service, the award-winning bar is known for its classic cocktails and outstanding presentation. Boasting a wide range of spirits, beers and juices, the impressive drinks list can be enjoyed in the lush garden, the library or the study’s leather booths.

Expensive with incredibly bad service on every level from the moment we arrived until we left. Snooty waiters who looked like they didn’t want to serve, slow service, extremely expensive wine list. Went with a voucher and was made to feel second class. Challenged when didn’t pay optional service charge. Avoid.

Good food, although not as good as a few years back. However, they are trying to be the Ryan air of restaurants and this leaves a bad taste when you leave. It is one of those arrogant restaurants that decides they have delivered good service to you and therefore adds a service charge to the bill knowing most customers will not cause a scene and ask to have it removed. In the future offer 2 options in the pricing menu, one for food delivered to your table and one for a collect from kitchen option. This scam of a practice really let's the restaurant down.

Food was superb. Delicious flavours achieved in the beef cheek plate. The Kaffir lime brûlée was a delicate balance of sweet and sharpness absolutely gorgeous.

We visited for New Years Eve and could not have had a better evening. The food & service were impeccable .The staff were fantastic, letting us keep our table past the booking slot as there was the availability to do so. We will definitely be visiting again in the near future.

Mr Coopers is just a good solid restaurant, with excellent staff and great food. I've eaten there 5 or 6 times over the years, and each time it's been a great experience. For NYE we had Chateaubriand, which was fantastic. It's not pretentious or flashy. It's comfortable and relaxed. Everything I've ever eaten has been really tasty.
