Mr Cooper's offers a multitude of different dining settings under one roof, combining modern touches with the history and heritage of Mr Cooper himself, whose house and famous gardens sat on the site back in 1819. Trees, birdhouses and a gazebo decorate the striking dining room which, with a zesty-green and white colour scheme, ushers the outdoors in.

The restaurant serves daring elegant food, cooked with flair and imagination. Seasonal dishes include starters of pressed smoked Ham hock with crispy pig's cheek, egg and bacon, followed by Cumbrian lamb rump with scorched turnips, cracked wheat and lamb jus. For dessert caramel popcorn tart with roasted rye ice cream and soured cream perfectly compliments the season.

Delivering world class service, the award-winning bar is known for its use of avant-garde ingredients and techniques including drinks made using a Rotary Evaporator. Lounge in the lush garden, sip on a cocktail in the library, or cosy up in the study’s leather booths with a fabulous drinks list boasting a wide range of spirits, beers and juices. Mr Cooper's Bar has been shortlisted for Imbibe's 'Drinks List of the Year 2016' and also listed in Condé Nast Traveller 'The Gold Standard 2015'.

Listed in The Good Food Guide 2017, Mr Cooper’s at the Midland Hotel in Manchester is a 7-minute walk from Manchester Oxford Road Rail Station.

We were meeting friends from Australia, not having seen them for four years. WE had a most enjoyable lunch - fantastic food, good service.
The only criticism is that the booking confirmation said that we had to leave by 3pm - hardly necessary when you were so not busy - and it created a tension in my head wondering if we were going to be ejected. We weren't!

Greeting was non existent. Fake plants are horrible! We had to ask for the set menu.
Food was perfect and good value

    thought it ws really good
had set menu which was great value both very good quality and portion size. starter in particular was excellent and cheese course was also very good
nice setting which is a bit different and very good service attentive and informative.
we had the menu which included wine. I would probably not do that next time and select wine separately as wine was ok but food deserved better.

I have been to a few pre theartre meals lately in Manchester and this was the one I would recommend most

Love Mr Coopers. Incredible food at excellent prices. Ham croquettes, swordfish faves. Creamed mash to die for. House white wine a recommend.

Excellent service, attentive but not too in your face. Food was incredible especially the Kafir lime creme brûlée. Cocktails were gorgeous.

I have dined at Mr Coopers a number of times but not for about 12-18 months. Overall I was disappointed this time. I think the menu has changed - less imaginative now and full of steaks.. The dessert was very nice and one I think has been retained from the old menu but the main courses were bland as were the starters. Service was very good.
In the past dining there has been reliable - one to take guests and visitors to but I feel it has lost something
