Outstanding food and a great team. None of the pretence of michelin style restaurants and all the better for it.

Critically acclaimed Moro offers award-winning Moorish cuisine, rooted in Spanish and North African influences. Winner of The Observer’s Best Restaurant Award in 2009, Moro opened in 1997, featuring an understated dining room and rustic yet elegant Moorish fare.

Try the Moorish-influenced dishes in the lively open plan dining room at Moro Exmouth Market or sample exquisite tapas at the long zinc bar. The vibrant open kitchen features an authentic wood burning oven and a charcoal grill.

Menus at Moro London change on a daily basis and sample dishes include the cuttlefish with broad beans, ink and mint or seared pigeon breast and piquillo pepper with garlic purée. Sumptuous desserts include rosewater ice cream and chocolate apricot tart. Passionate about fine sherry, Moro has an extensive list, and all varieties are available by the glass.

At the hub of lively Exmouth Market, Moro in Clerkenwell epitomises fine Moorish dining with an eclectic blend of Mediterranean and African influences. Owners Sam and Sam Clark were named well-deserved winners at 2012’s London Restaurant Festival Awards.

Excellent lunch once again. The quail was beautifully cooked and the charcoal grilled lamb main course was well up to the standard. My partner had the fish soup followed by the brill, which again was cooked to perfection.

Haven't been here for years and was delighted to find it unchanged, especially the absolutely wonderful cooking and service. Lunch for four and we stayed til nearly 5. Unpromising sounding "vegetable medley" for vegetarians turned out to be brilliant, not the collection of roasted roots it sounded like but beautiful houmous and beetroot and spinach kind of plate. The genre as per the name is Spain meets North Africa. Harissa and chickpeas with skate was mine and quite pink lamb for the fourth. One small warning in case you are thinking of having a business lunch -- it does get quite noisy at peak lunch time. Coffee is excellent.

Met with friends for a birthday lunch. Whilst there had been a mistake with the table this was promptly remedied and we were seated. The food was delicious with good selection for everyone dining. The portions were a nice size, cooked well with lovely balance of flavours. Only wondering is that maybe there was a bit too much ice cream on the dessert menu as might have been nice to have had another pudding choice.

Our lunch at Moro's was as good as ever; a real pleasure to be back. The food is delicious - tasty and earthy. Precious without being pretentious. The service is excellent. The prices are high but you are getting the real thing - care and imaginative attention to really good cooking.

Food was tasty but an unexpected overload of parsley ruined my main course. Service relaxed and friendly and great wine but probably wouldn’t return

Moro is an absolutely fantastic dining experience. The service is outstanding, the waiters are all passionate about the menu and very friendly. The food is quite simply awesome. I have been to Moro many times, each time it feels unique and special. I can safely say it is my favorite restaurant anywhere in the world.

This has been my favourite restaurant for years so I am biased but our latest meal was as good as ever. If I was trying to find negatives I would say that portion sizes have shrunk markedly over time, especially for starters, and that the new early opening for dinner doesn't in practice seem to make much difference to the previous starting time for a meal. That said, the sheer quality and originality of Moro means that almost everything on the menu is appealing and there is vey little that one could reasonably replicate at home. For London, £150 for a 3-course meal for two with aperitifs and a bottle of wine represents very good value. We would eat here more often were it not for the fact that Moro's success has spawned many flattering imitators: there are so many more good restaurants to try than there ever were in the bad old days.

Yum yum... delicious Spanish/Moroccan food... and a wonderful wine list of Spanish and Portuguese wines. I love the vibe of the whole place which is not fussy at all. It's buzzy and welcoming. The waiters are brilliant too. Just a very good experience eating out.
