An excellent Christmas lunch menu. Personal and attentive staff and prompt service. Food excellently prepared, cooked and presented. Steak was superb and cooked as requested. All delicious courses. Lovely dining area with a festive ambience- relaxed and comfortable.

The room allocated for the afternoon tea was very small, with no windows and enclosed in a space under the stairs to the upper area of the hotel. It lacked atmosphere and it was cold. The sandwiches had clearly been made earlier as the bread was drying out. Staff were pleasant and there was ample tea and coffee, however only 3 small finger sandwiches per person, a pork pie that looked as if it had come from a supermarket and some small cakes. Overall it wasn't the pleasant festive experience we had hoped and at £20 per person disappointing. The waitress gave the person with a fish allergy smoked salmon sandwiches!

We love the Morgan’s Hotel , but this lunch was very unpleasant We just wish we were informed that we be sitting in a hall full of Xmas parties , we sat down and within 15 minutes we feel we were rushed in and rushed out we did not have time to leave you food go down, the main meal was very nice , but the soup had no taste , I would recommend Morgan’s restaurant after or before Xmas

Excellent food in a beautiful restaurant with great service. Can’t think of anywhere we’ve had a better Sunday lunch.

Fantastic dining experience, food was excellent, we dined downstairs and it had a lovely atmosphere, perfect for dinner with someone special.

The bar area where we had a an over-priced pre-lunch drink was cold and drafty but service was good. In the upstairs restaurant, we had to have 2 dangerously wobbly chairs replaced. The Sunday lunch menu was very limited, with no interesting options to traditional British roasts. Main course roast meals were preceded by an OK risotto, a melon dish with under-ripe melon and pumpkin soup with stone-like pumpkin seeds acting as teeth breaking obstacles to enjoying the soup itself, which was OK. The roasts were mega in quantity and we knew we wouldn't finish them, so we asked for them to be "doggy bagged" along with the excessive amount of vegetables. Unfortunately, the staff didn't listen and threw away most of our deliberately left meals, which caused embarrassing arguments. The desserts were once again very disappointing, with bread pudding that was more akin to a solid piece of cake. Ice cream - which was needed with this pudding/cake - was charged at £1 for a tiny scoop. Overall, a waste of nearly £70 for Sunday lunch for 3 people.

The food and the service was excellent. The king prawn risotto was my favourite, it was gorgeous. Special thanks must be given to Leah, whose service was absolutely flawless. She was so attentive and really went that extra mile. She clearly made the effort to remember who ordered which dish as she brought our plates straight to us without having to ask “who ordered the lamb” etc - very professional and a credit to Morgan’s.
