Amazing food. Impeccable service and the setting is fantastic. The chilled carrot dish is out of this world

Everything was excellent - the food was outstanding, the service first class, the ambiance delightful and the attention lavished on us superb. The evening was, without any doubt, our most enjoyable and memorable dinner experience ever. We will be back!

Simply the best meal we've had this year and, after spending a couple of days reflecting, probably the best since first visiting l'Enclume in 2015.

From the moment we walked into Moor Hall we felt welcome and valued. The small charcuterie selection in the bar was excellent & we agreed that if this was a sign of things to come we were in for a treat. There was no question that we would have the 8 course menu.

We were taken into the restaurant which is light and modern and offers great views of the grounds, the chairs were comfortable and we felt settled for a very long lunch. The 'snacks' started to arrive and were excellent, the black pudding and apple 'puffs' were my favourite. The sommelier (Alex?) came to the table and we explained that we would not have a bottle. Sam was driving & would want a glass to see her through the meal, I would have two & would like something for the first half & a different wine for the second. He was brilliant, taking time to walk us through a few options each, confirming we were comfortable with the price range and ultimately pairing great wines for each of us.

The food was just brilliant throughout but if I had single out one highlight it would be the tartare, reminiscent of a bbq'd burger with the shallots, mustard and charcoal, honestly the best thing I've eaten in a long time. Worth the journey!

Throughout the meal the service was first class, we never felt rushed and the pace of the dishes coming out was perfect for us. The FOH manager took the time to show us the kitchen before we left and spent a good amount of time talking us through Chef's ethos and ideas. He explained what had attracted him to Moor Hall and you could sense the pride he has for working there. Quite right too!

Given they offer a 3 course lunch menu as well as other options which don't require the sizeable commitment in time and money the 8 does, I can think of no reason for anyone not to visit. In summary....JUST GO!

Being paralysed from my shoulders and a full time wheelchair user I was immensely pleased with the service that I received, everyone was extremely courteous and treated me exactly how I wish everyone treated disabled people.
It was perfectly accessible and the table was perfect for me, with lots of space so I could easily manoeuvre into position.
The food was also amazing and I found myself closing my eyes to eliminate my other senses so I could capture the magical taste sensations my mouth was experiencing.
I actually found the carrot course my favourite.

The whole experience was amazing from the minute we entered the house. The staff were very friendly and the hall was very inviting. The dining experience was superb and the food ....well it was fantastic! As we were celebrating my husband's birthday he part took of the 'Wine flight' and thoroughly enjoyed his conversations with Sommelier discussing the wines for each course and introducing him to unknown wines and grapes; it was a pleasure to see! The way in which the food was presented was unusual but innovative (I'm going to try to copy). Although we didn't have cheese; our waitress did take us in to the Cheese room and explain all the varieties. My husband's favourite course was the duck, but truthfully I didn't have a favourite, I thought every course was splendid! I was touch by the thoughtful of surprise of bringing my husband with a birthday treat whilst we had coffee was lovely!

In summary we had a wonderful afternoon of Food and Wine at Moor Hall and it took dining out to a higher level....FABULOUS! We look forward to coming back in the near future.

We chose the five course meal. This included canapés, a pre-starter and a pre-dessert. Every dish was exquisitely presented, imaginative and beautifully prepared. Allergies and dislikes were checked with us in advance and careful attention was given to these during our visit. We were impressed that these are recorded and kept for future visits. Indeed, a separate dish was provided for one member of our party to address this. Service was faultless. Each dish was clearly described and a printed menu was provided for us to take away. The sommelier was skilled in recommending a wine that suited our food, our preferences and our pockets. This was our fourth visit and has become our favourite restaurant.

I decided to make a reservation for my partners recent birthday. And fair to say I was not in the least disappointed - I would go as far as to say that the restaurant far exceeded any of my expectations. The booking process was simple - and once my reservation was made, I received communication from the restaurant very early on to check dietary requirements. As an added touch - they even included a well put together video introducing the brand itself.
I arrived early and had drinks and canapes in the bar. The lounge had a touch of old country grandeur to it - with its plush leather sofas, fireplace and chandeliers. They boasted an extensive range of available drink options - even an alcohol free gin option. I also noted that a cigar menu was available - which was an option I did not partake in but would consider doing so in the future.
Following this we were ushered into the dining hall - which had an open view of the kitchen as we walked by. The contrast between the lounge and dining area was striking. The dining hall an epitome of a modern setting - even boasting automated blinds. On our table we were greeted by a birthday card - among other things - definitely an extra touch. Service then started - beginning with 3 'snacks' followed by a 7 course meal. After each course - I had thought to myself that the chef could not possibly outdo himself - only to be proved wrong. My favourite dish was the beef tartare.
The service at Moor Hall was exceptional - from the moment we walked through the door. Our waitress for the night was excellent - she had all encompassing knowledge about the food being served. And was even able to answer our questions about the unique and eye catching tableware the restaurant uses. She was not alone in upholding such excellent service.
We were later invited to have a peek through at the busy kitchen - and was even greeted by the chef himself.
The service was certainly on par if not exceeding of 3 star establishments. I will be return.

Outstanding night and one of the very best dining experiences. The tasting menu and service were a triumph for the whole team, from Head Chef to serving staff. Too difficult to choose a favourite dish!
