Changing with the seasons, The Montague is home to unique pop-ups throughout the year. In summer, the Wood Deck is transformed into a pop-up Beach Bar, whilst from mid-November the Ski Lodge becomes a wintry wonderland.
Awarded an 'Award of Excellence' for afternoon tea and a commended award at the Afternoon Tea Awards 2018, intriguing twists on the classic formula are served. The safari-themed afternoon tea menu includes African-spiced chicken and apricot finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones with Devonshire clotted cream, and an array of tempting treats including giraffe macarons with salted caramel, toasted coconut mousse, and banana meringue. The tea is also served with a signature Leopard Cocktail - made with Amarula cream liquor and decorated with leopard spots and paw print.
Budding coffee connoisseurs can enjoy a caffeine masterclass at The Montague on the Gardens’ Coffee Experience. Teaming up with Illy Coffee, the outdoor deck has been transformed into a coffee station where expertly brewed coffees are joined by platters of paired comfort cuisine. From 1st October to 10th November, the outdoor wood deck has been transformed into a “Coffee Station”, where expertly brewed coffee from a bespoke selection of Illy’s finest roasts are served as part of an educational experience, combined with deliciously sweet food pairing to complement the beans and brewing techniques.
From November to January, The Wood Deck is transformed with pine trees, falling snow, reindeer, snowmen, ski racks, piste maps and strings of fairy lights and lanterns into London’s original Ski Lodge. The centrepiece is a bar serving a selection of beverages from a choice of 12 including Schnapps, flavoured vodkas, mulled wine and hot chocolate cocktails. Guests can enjoy delicious candied pecans, mulled wine, winter Pimm's and hot spiced cider, with wooly rugs to keep snug as well as sofas with blankets beside the tree.
A haven in the heart of London, The Montague on the Gardens’ in Bloomsbury is just a 4-minute walk from Russell Square Tube Station.

This is a quirky venue that really puts you in the mood for Christmas. The drinks were fantastic and the food was good, but not excellent. The whole thing was really well done, from the snowfall as you enter to the snowmen and reindeer around the bar area. We loved it and will definitely return next year.
