A culinary phenomenon, Mithas in Edinburgh is the first Indian eatery to win the prestigious CIS award for Best Restaurant in Scotland. Not only that, but it is also the first Indian restaurant outside London to receive 2 AA Rosettes 2 years in a row.

Offering modern, award-winning Indian cuisine crafted in the open kitchen, the chefs weave time-honoured customs and intense flavours through the modern Mithas menu. Sourcing from trusted suppliers, a colourful selection includes tandoori stuffed mushrooms with honey marinade, or warming lamb chop tikka.

Since its opening, Mithas in Edinburgh has achieved 13 prestigious awards, including the Scottish Restaurants Awards' Best Indian Restaurant in Scotland 2012 and 2013. Mithas is also the only Indian restaurant in Scotland recommended by the prestigious Michelin Guide.

In the luxurious dining room, ornately hand-carved wood and glossy marble tiling are offset by fuchsia pink upholstery and sparkling silverware. Perched close to Leith Docks, Mithas restaurant is just a 9-minute drive from central Edinburgh.

From home to home the experience was memorable. Particularly easy to find and adequate parking available. We had the three course offer. The choice was good and covered all palates. We were not rushed but the service was very attentive and keen to ensure our meal was comfortable. There was an exceptional degree of attention to detail. Including a nice touch of a Birthday dessert platter. A pleasing touch was the wine being decanted - these days not always the case. We all remarked upon the excellent quality and taste of the pleasingly presented foods.

Warm welcome. Attentive polite service. Good wine list. Absolutely stunning menu, delicious and aromatic food. Lovely surprise dessert for our anniversary. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Mithas can only be described as dining experience! The food, ambiance, and service is the best I have ever experienced. What I particularly enjoy about Mithas is that it is Indian food but in a completely different league. I have never tasted such delicate flavors and combinations.
Mithas is somewhere to go for a celebration, and somewhere you always feel you have been before and welcomed back.

I have always gone for the tasting menu, a real feast! I also enjoyed some mock tails, cucumber fizz being my favorite.
I recommend Mithas to everyone I know, and cant wait for my next visit.

The restaurant was a little dark and lacked atmosphere but the food was good if not plentiful. I think they serve the smallest naan breads in the world. The highlight for me was the cheese and Indian sweet breads for desert, if only the cheese wasn't straight from the fridge it would have been fantastic.

One off putting feature was the sheer number of waiters who far out numbered those eating and tended to be falling over each other.

I can't recommend this restaurant enough - the service, surroundings and food (oh my god the food) are all unsurpassed and I will definitely be returning (hopefully soon)

A great experience. Wonderful, freshly cooked Indian delicacies. Spices and flavour to savour.

Nice evening meal, great food but we found the single tables for couples are too close together offering very little privacy for conversation without adjacent eavesdropping at the adjacent tables.
