Made to feel very special by all the staff. Food was beautiful. I particularly liked the way the vegetables were cooked. Such wonderful taste.

Went to the Mirabelle for a birthday meal with my wife it was a great experience from when we entered the hotel. All staff were friendly and courteous, in a very grand but relaxed environment.

The restaurant was excellent in ambience, food and service. My wife is vegetarian (no fish) and the choices available were way beyond the normal risotto.

    Highly recommended!

Overall a very pleasant experience. Positives: Friendly attentive staff, beautiful setting with grand architecture, (The mold on the curtains in the long corridor was a bit off putting and I did notice that the carpets in the bar covering the dance floor were a bit tatty around the edges and needed to be re-over-locked) The food was very nice, well presented and good wines to accompany. Not so Positives: First course for me was presented without the quail eggs. I didn't like to complain but after I had finished, my brother pointed out there weren't any (He was visiting from Australia) I was then presented with two eggs on a separate plate. It was embarrassing but did not spoil the evening. My brother and I then ordered desert with the Muscat wine which was forgotten and then only brought to the table after we had finished desert. Again embarrassing but did not spoil the evening.

My elderly mother who also came, needed to use the rest room and we were very grateful for the assistance provided to her although if booking again, we might ensure that we choose one of your restaurants that has a toilet a little closer as she has mobility problems.

Overall a special experience for us. A little more attention to detail would have made the evening perfect.

I am not one for using Trip Advisor etc. etc. to make observations but, as this was an evening to help mark a significant birthday and you have asked for my opinions, then I shall be honest. Overall, the evening was a disappointment. Despite being born and brought up in Eastbourne I had never before visited the Grand Hotel and this was intended to be special.

The waiting staff we met were all extremely courteous, attentive and helpful. However, my impression in the cocktail bar was that they were understaffed. There were many dirty glasses piled up on the counter, not what you'd expect of the Grand Hotel, and the staff seemed pressed. The cocktails, at £16.50 were overpriced for what they were. The glasses were not chilled and the champagne within not sufficiently cold.

Turning to the menu, which was imaginative, the starters were good but my sea-food risotto extremely stodgy and disappointing. The cuts of fish, scattered on top of the rice, were a little dry. The wine was good but vastly overpriced. £35 or so for a Muscadet is a silly price, given that the food was not able to provide the sense of exclusiveness that the location should give it.

With a tip to the helpful staff the bill came to £175 for two. This was not unexpected but the quality and presentation of the food was not simply good enough for that amount of money. I have had better meals in a backstreet restaurant at Dieppe for a third of that price.

Myself and family went there for lunch last Wednesday and had alovely time. The surroundings were stunning The weather was beautiful. The service was excellent, thoughtful, efficient and friendly. A credit to the management The only down point was the lemon sole main course that I had was quite bland and I felt it would have been more suitable for invalid food. But all in all I had a great time and a lovely way to celebrate my birthday.

Wonderful dining experience for my wife and I. Mouthwatering seasonal menu. All three separate courses for each were delicious. So full of flavours. Prepared and presented with perfection. Superb service from most attentive waiters.
