Very nice restaurant, lovely food and great service. I’d recommend the restaurant for a special occasion.

The Mirabelle Restaurant itself was wonderful as ever. The service in the lounge area of The Grand left something to be desired however. The bar wanted to charge over £8 for a pint of lime and soda and the waiting staff failed to provide a menu for the Mirabelle as requested. This is not the first time this has happened which is a shame because it can spoil the experience.

Restaurant in the elegant Grand Hotel, decorated in blues and greys. High ceilings and windows which overlook a small garden area facing the sea. I asked for a table away from large noisy groups, which I got but it was next to a grand piano and classical music was played throughout lunch. I would not have chosen to be so close although the pianist was very good and would have preferred to have been asked if it was suitable.
Staff are friendly and attentive, the food was beautifully cooked and presented, the wine expensive but excellent. Lunch is set prices for 2 or 3 courses. Service really good. We had coffee in the terrace area rather than the restaurant and the waitress was happy to serve us there.
Car parking even for my disabled companion was impossible, neither of us could find a space as they are only for hotel guests. One small gripe...the side doors closest to the Mirabelle and in the street where my companion was parked..... were locked and he had to walk all the way round through the front entrance. Parking is free in the streets beside and behind the hotel but spaces limited due to proximity to the sea front. Allow plenty of time for parking if going by car during the day!

Superb service. Very good food, but menu was disappointing compared to previous visits in that there was less choice, less interesting choices and less food.

this was our first visit to the restaurant on this experience I have to ask myself why we had not been before. From the welcome, the décor, the service, the food and it's presentation was a great example of what I see as a "Fine Dining" experience. It would be difficult to praise any particular "dish" as all courses we presented with such "Flair" and " imagination" with interesting and original pairings. The fact that we have already rebooked for my wife's birthday speaks volumes on how much we enjoyed our lunch.

I’m not one for leaving reviews but I was so impressed I feel too guilty not to.
Both I and my partner felt totally at ease which we struggle to do when feeling we are probably a bit out of place.
We had the taster menu with wine and although something’s were a bit adventurous for my palette the majority was absolutely amazing and had me wanting the taste to last forever.
The wines chosen to accompany the dishes seemed to go hand in hand and although I’m no connoisseur even I could taste the difference from the usual plonk.
Everything was second to none and we will definitely come again and not even for just one of those special occasions.

The food is much improved here following the overhaul of the kitchen. The haddock starter was delicious although the lamb was over cooked to my liking (I had asked for medium rare but it can medium to well done). A disappointing aspect was that although we had booked for the 1400h sitting, we did feel rushed throughout the meal. To be fair the restaurant close to get ready for the evening diners but why accept a 1400h booking if it proves such an inconvenience to the staff and kitchen?

Really enjoyed our visit. Staff and food were great and the recent refurbishment has improved
the overall experience.

Went to the Mirabelle for a birthday meal with my wife it was a great experience from when we entered the hotel. All staff were friendly and courteous, in a very grand but relaxed environment.
The restaurant was excellent in ambience, food and service. My wife is vegetarian (no fish) and the choices available were way beyond the normal risotto.
