My wife and I went here for brunch. The pancakes (without yogurt) and bacon with maple syrup I would highly recommend. The one thing I would recommend is if your going on a weekend is to book online so that you can get into the restaurant.

A stunningly converted Cambridge mill with original features throughout, such as a rustic waterwheel and metal gearing on the exposed brick walls, MillWorks is a vibrant, modern brasserie that serves up classic and contemporary British flavours throughout the day, including gluten and dairy-free options.

The MillWorks menu covers breakfast through to dinner, with a superb selection of wholesome recipes available. Brunch staples include buttermilk pancakes, and smashed avocado on toast with chipotle salsa, moving on to hearty mains later in the day like mussels with scrumpy cider sauce, and half chicken marinated in thyme, lemon and garlic. From the Mortimer charcoal grill there are succulent steaks, and other treats like marinated lamb chops with dukkah and honey.

Inventive cocktails at MillWorks in Cambridge use artisan spirits like Buffalo Trace bourbon and Ancho chilli liqueur, and there are craft beers from around the world, as well as a range of homemade soft drinks. For pudding, diners can enjoy treats like orange custard tart with orange sorbet, and BBQ pineapple with coconut meringue.

A stunning setting to enjoy casual all-day dining, MillWorks restaurant is a stone's throw from Queens' College, and 12 minutes' walk from the centre of Cambridge.

A bit "hit and miss" the service was slow, the light system made the waiting staff reactive rather than proactive, for a £50 per head meal I would expect more. The starter was very good, and well presented. The flat iron Steak was very well cooked and presented, however my wife ate the Sirlion, and this was very tough and chewing even thought cook to a medium. As the server was very busy, we decided not to complain on the night, however did mention it to the runner who clear our plate.

Great service and lovely food, especially the Mac ‘n’ cheese, and the lamb chops.

The building and the interior of the restaurant was lovely, really well thought out. The food i'm afraid was below par, we had the meat feast and everything that was on it was not hot enough really, it felt like it had been standing for a while to cool down and the only thing that was good was the steak. The lamb chop flavored nice but was raw near the bone so by the time i had realized i'd already eaten it. The smoked ribs were not great either. The saving grace of the meal was the Mac and cheese which really was the highlight of a poor meal. I must say though that when these problems were brought to the waitresses attention there was a deduction on the bill which was greatly appreciated. The service was okay nothing special i had about 4 different waitresses that served me so no real personal service to make it a bit more special.

Lack of atmosphere ...limited menu ... attentive staff (responding to the bell!)
Squid tasted as though frozen not fresh ... ribs over cooked

The food was good, my partner had to send his steak back twice before it was suitable for him to eat
