Right on the border of Poole & Bournemouth, with an al fresco area outside & ample parking space, Miller & Carter – Poole specialises in succulent, hand-cut, 28-day aged steaks – all sustainably sourced from British farms. With leather banquettes, exposed-brick walls & soft golden lighting, the steakhouse enjoys a cosy, laid-back ambience.

The Miller & Carter menu is led by hand-cut, 30-day aged steaks, all carefully sourced from sustainable British & Irish farms, and expertly cooked. Favourite cuts span from a deliciously tender grain-fed sirloin, aged for 50 days for a rich, buttery flavour, to a luxurious sharing chateaubriand. Other Miller & Carter signature dishes include smoky barbecue ribs with seasoned fries & dressed slaw, and lemon & rosemary lamb rump served with dauphinoise potatoes, sautéed exotic mushrooms & tenderstem broccoli.

To finish, sweet indulgences include Miller’s chocolate orange: a shimmering golden globe with ganache and orange toffee. The Miller & Carter cellar is brimming with drinks designed to complement the menu, including chilled draught and bottled beers, crafted cocktails and an impressive wine list of rich reds and sparkling wines.

Miller & Carter – Poole is a 9-minute drive from Branksome Rail Station.

All pretty good. I did think the some seating areas were a little tight.

Excellent service. Great choice on the menu. Only problem the fries are very, very salty. Next time we will ask when ordering for no salt on the fries/chips.

The chateaubriand was excellent but a little perturbed to fine a hair in the cheesecake

Very enjoyable meal. My friend's birthday was made especial by decorating the sweet tray.

I was not overly impressed. We came for lunch as it was my friend's birthday and she likes your restaurant. There was total confusion over what we wanted to eat. A salad appeared for both of us and then my friend had another salad given to her although she hadn't ordered it. The Waitress said it was included, my friend didn't touch it, so a waste of good food. I found the steak tasteless, fatty, tough - very disappointing. The dessert I had was good. We had coffee and sat and chatted till 4.15 and no-one pressured us to leave so I was impressed with that. The meal certainly was not worth £50. Also it was constantly said that there was a strict dress code. I certainly was surprised by this statement seeing workmen arrive in workmen clothing. I don't have a problem with that but I had made an extra effort to look nice because of your statement on strict dress code which obviously means nothing.

Awful service. We were made to wait 30 minutes before seeing the manager seating another couple straight away. We left with a very patronising apologese from the same manager.
