Right on the border of Poole & Bournemouth, with an al fresco area outside & ample parking space, Miller & Carter – Poole specialises in succulent, hand-cut, 28-day aged steaks – all sustainably sourced from British farms. With leather banquettes, exposed-brick walls & soft golden lighting, the steakhouse enjoys a cosy, laid-back ambience.

The Miller & Carter menu is led by hand-cut, 30-day aged steaks, all carefully sourced from sustainable British & Irish farms, and expertly cooked. Favourite cuts span from a deliciously tender grain-fed sirloin, aged for 50 days for a rich, buttery flavour, to a luxurious sharing chateaubriand. Other Miller & Carter signature dishes include smoky barbecue ribs with seasoned fries & dressed slaw, and lemon & rosemary lamb rump served with dauphinoise potatoes, sautéed exotic mushrooms & tenderstem broccoli.

To finish, sweet indulgences include Miller’s chocolate orange: a shimmering golden globe with ganache and orange toffee. The Miller & Carter cellar is brimming with drinks designed to complement the menu, including chilled draught and bottled beers, crafted cocktails and an impressive wine list of rich reds and sparkling wines.

Miller & Carter – Poole is a 9-minute drive from Branksome Rail Station.

Awful service. We were made to wait 30 minutes before seeing the manager seating another couple straight away. We left with a very patronising apologese from the same manager.

Actually very dissatisfied, we brought drinks at the bar , sat at our table for quite a while , questioned as to why we hadn't been called . It was only then that they proceeded to tell us that we could not enter the restaurant as one of our party was wearing uniproperate clothing and was refused enters, but it is not displayed anywhere in the pub or enterance, and we're happy to serve us at the bar ??? Have spent hundreds for Christmas works and other occasions , and the night it caught fire, the same party where there in the same clothing and nothing was said .

Excellent food and service, my only complaint is that I don't like my beer at such a cold temperature.

Table booked for 12pm, doors still locked at 12:10pm. Staff just staring at people trying the door. Went elsewhere

Nicely laid out Friendly staff and really good food

The food was very good generally but the service was slow which may indicate that you simply don't have enough staff, of the 11 meals ordered all were fine except one where the steak was undercooked and when sent back took over 20 minutes to redo even then it wasn't very good.

We were excited to visit the newly re-opened restaurant since it’s fire.
    The restaurant looks lovely.
Our initial waiter was lovely - he went in a break and someone else covered. Although a pleasant lady - we were not looked after very well.

We had to ask for the lettuce loaf - it had benn forgotten to be delivered to table
The onion loaf was like a rock on the plate - not edible.
We were served a children’s ice cream with a half cookie. It was black and burnt to the point of being like a brick. We also wanted to order our own desserts. The waitress said she was in the middle of something and would come back. We waited for sometime to realise that she wasn’t coming back. We decided to leave the desserts.
Our check back for main meal happened after we had finished. We would of politely mentioned the loaf then.

We were happy with our steaks they were cooked correct to order.

I decided to have a quiet word and expressed our disappointment constructively. The duty manager gave us 20% off

All in all - it was a shame - we would have to reconsider if we would come back

Very nicely rebuilt restaurant. Friendly service. Didn't wait over- long for the food to arrive. Meals were perfect. As well as the steak I would recommend the prime burger which was so moist and flavourful. Do go for a side of onion loaf - caramelised onion baked in the oven I think - so lush! Miller's Praline Bomb is amazing too.
My husband loved the Hawkes Ginger Beer with fruit flavours. I enjoyed the Mango Melba Mocktail. £60 was more than we normally like to pay but actually it WAS worth it!
