Absolutely fabulous, from the moment we got there.
It was my brothers surprise birthday, the gentleman who received us asked his name so they could sing happy birthday. They set the cake up, it was excellent service

Nestled in a little rural pocked just off the Stourbridge Road, with benches on the lawn for al fresco wining & dining in the summer months, Miller & Carter – Penn specialises in hand-cut, 28-day aged steaks, all sourced from sustainable British farms. Set in a picturesque cottage, with exposed red-brick walls inside, offset by cosy chocolate-leather banquettes & soft lighting, this steakhouse near Wombourne enjoys a relaxed, friendly vibe.

The Miller & Carter menu is led by hand-cut, 30-day aged steaks, all carefully sourced from sustainable British & Irish farms, and expertly cooked. Favourite cuts span from a deliciously tender grass-fed Ribeye, aged for 50 days for a rich, buttery flavour, to a luxurious sharing chateaubriand. Other Miller & Carter signature dishes include smoky barbecue ribs with seasoned fries & dressed slaw, and a pork fillet wrapped in bacon with apple 3 ways served with dauphinoise potato, green beans and roasted Mediterranean-style vegetables.

To finish, sweet indulgences include chocolate hazelnut bomb, an indulgent, rich chocolate ganache encased in toasted hazelnuts and chocolate nibs, served with pecan praline ice cream and zesty orange curd. The Miller & Carter cellar is brimming with drinks designed to complement the menu, including chilled draught and bottled beers, crafted cocktails and an impressive wine list of rich reds and sparkling wines.

Miller & Carter – Penn in Wolverhampton is a 12-minute drive from Wolverhampton Rail Station.

Disappointing meal as the steak was not cooked correctly

The main meal was ok. But the puddings were disappointing. My guests and myself would have liked to see more traditional puddings as well
We did leave pudding and went somewhere else for cakes

We had yet another wonderful meal, couldn’t fault it or our waitress Amy. However we felt that housekeeping let the whole experience down.
On being seated at our table I had to brush my threadbare chair clean of crumbs. We made comment at how the velour had been wore off our chairs & how the edges or the chairs we all frayed & tatty looking. Our table was wobbly & not having a beer mats to place under the one foot to help balance it we resorted to using a knife to try to solve the problem.
Lastly when my husband used the Gents toilets he commented he’d been in cleaner public loos! Puddles on the floor & the toilet stank! He kept saying glad we don’t have our son with us & that I haven’t got to take him in there.
Such a shame as we do love the Penn Miller & Carter & the food is always excellent. Would the experience this time make us think twice about a return visit? Yes it probably would! All dressed up sat on tatty seats, wobbly table that would spill your drink over your nice clothes & toilets worse that public ones.....not my idea of a finer dinning experience.

Service was excellent and food good but the table we were on was in a very noisy location next to the bar where serving staff collected drinks. This made conversation difficult.

Excellent all round as always. Food is amazing and the service.
Just wish they had a larger carpark.

Another excellent meal. The food was prepared exactly as promised; the eating area was bright, airy and clean. It's refreshing to eat somewhere not crowded or cramped. Our waiter, Ellis, was very attentive and friendly without being obtrusive and, although we waited to be served a little longer than usual it didn't matter because we were having such an enjoyable time. I always look forward to bringing friends and family here (which we have since moving into the area 30 years ago when it was Penn Cottage). When asked, all our visitors request M&C so now it is taken as read!! The management is visibly seen interacting in the eating area and it does show that this business is led from the top. If you want a delicious meal in pleasant surroundings. I definitely recommend M&C Penn. Thank you.

We have been to miller and carter many times the food has always been exceptional. Our visit this time was made unpleasant by 4 Asian males at the next table who were loud and using foul language . Thankfully the service was prompt and we quickly ate and went . If I had seen a member of staff on the way out I would of mentioned it but didn't want to attract attention at the table and wouldn't of complained to the poor waitress but the meal as always was superb.i purposely have not ticked the restaurant features as our meal was booked for 15.30and would not like to think the young and elderly or anyone in between would have to sit next to like minded individuals where drink was a plenty.
